The Boilermakers were surprised in Bloomington by the rival Indiana Hoosiers last Thursday, falling 68-65 as 3.5-point favorites. Purdue bounced back with authority, roughing up Northwestern by an 80-60 score in West Lafayette to cover a 12-point number. The Boilermakers hit an outstanding 52% from the field, or 29-of-46, while dropping in 12-of-29, or 41%, from behind the 3-point line. They also took good care of the basketball, turning it over just nine times while outrebounding the Wildcats by a 32-to-19 margin.

Like the Boilers, the Hawkeyes were looking to get untracked after a loss in the most recent road game. Iowa was topped 48-46 in a low-scoring affair at Rutgers last Wednesday. It rebounded with a 68-51 victory over Penn State, covering a 10-point number as the UNDER cashed. The Hawkeyes hit 41%, or 22-of-54, from the field, while connecting on 10-of-32, or 31% from behind the arc. Star Keegan Murray led the way with 15 points, although he was a subpar 4-of-12 from the field, including 1-of-7 from behind the arc. He was able to grab eight rebounds and three blocked shots, as even when he doesn't have a good game in one area, he is able to pick up the pace in other facets.

This is going to be a tremendous battle, but Iowa knows how these games usually end. Purdue has won five of the past six meetings in this series, and the Boilermakers have still covered four of those outings, although Iowa hit the number in each of the past two in the series.

The Hawkeyes have lost all four games against ranked teams while going 1-3 ATS this season, including a 77-70 loss at Purdue back on Dec. 3. I think Purdue is able to maintain its mastery in this series while posting a win, but it's going to come right down to the very end.
