USC TROJANS VS. OREGON DUCKS PREDICTIONS

The Trojans avoided an embarrassing setback last time out against cellar-dwelling Oregon State, posting a 94-91 overtime win in Corvallis on Thursday. That's five consecutive victories for the Trojans since a 72-63 loss at Arizona, including a win over UCLA. However, three of the past four wins have been by three or fewer points. Of course, the old saying is that good teams find a way to win, and in March teams just needs to survive and advance, and it doesn't always have to be pretty.

The Ducks are flying high after a 68-63 win over UCLA on Thursday, completing the regular-season sweep of the Bruins. Those signature wins, as well as a 79-69 win at USC back on Jan. 15 as six-point underdogs, will really be nice additions to the resume when the NCAA Tournament committee is perusing their overall body of work. Another win against USC in this one would more than likely punch Oregon's ticket to the Big Dance, if it hasn't already done so.

In this series, USC had been dominant, going 4-0 ATS in the past four meetings prior to Oregon's 79-69 upset win in Los Angeles on Jan. 15. That also snapped a 7-0 SU run by the home teams in the series. The OVER has cashed in three of the past four.

The good news for both sides is that the teams are completely healthy. The Ducks might not have the stellar record that the Trojans have, but they're also flying high after a tremendous win over UCLA last time out, while USC was nearly embarrassed by a bad Oregon State team. Were the Trojans simply overlooking OSU, and looking ahead to this matchup? Perhaps. But that doesn't explain a subpar effort in a 62-60 win against Washington State in the prior game on Feb. 20. The Trojans are 0-3 ATS in the past three games, and 2-7 ATS in the past nine. I like Oregon to use the UCLA win as a springboard into this game, pulling off another solid resume-building win.
