- Opening moneyline: Penn State -160/Oregon +140
- Opening total: Over/Under 52.5 points scored
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday (NBC)
GAME DAY UPDATE: With kickoff 75 minutes out, Penn State is 3.5-point chalk in BetMGM's college football Week 5 odds. That's where the number has been most of the week, save for a short stretch Monday at Nittany Lions -3.
"We're getting mixed action on Oregon-Penn State. A Penn State win and an Oregon cover is ideal right now," BetMGM trading manager Christian Cipollini said.
The total is at 52.5 (Over -115), up from a 51.5 opener, with action solidly favoring the Over tonight.
LATE WEEK UPDATE: ESPNBET has been painted to Penn State -3.5 all week, at various juice in the college football odds Week 5 market. At 8 p.m. Friday night, it's Nittany Lions -3.5 (-115), though Oregon is a trendy underdog.
"Oregon has been getting the majority of spread bets and handle all week. But it's picking up more in [the Ducks'] favor as of Friday morning, with about two-thirds of bets and nearly 60% of handle now on Oregon on the road," ESPNBET senior trading director Adrian Horton said.
The total opened at 52.5 (Over -115), bottomed out at 51.5 flat Wednesday and is at 53.5 (Under -115) Friday night. It's two-way play, with tickets leaning toward the Over and money toward the Under, accounting for all bet types (straight/parlays etc.).
MIDWEEK UPDATE: Oregon-Penn State is arguably the Game of the Week, with the Nittany Lions 3.5-point home favorites in DraftKings' Week 5 college football odds. That matches the opening number, though Penn State made brief trips to -3 Sunday and Monday.
Interestingly, road 'dog Oregon is landing 67% of spread tickets/60% of spread money, as of 4 p.m. ET Thursday. The Ducks are also getting the nod from moneyline bettors, at 53% of tickets/63% of money.
DK's total is at 52.5 (Under -115), after opening at 52.5 flat and spending time at 51.5 from Wednesday night through this morning. The Over is taking 72% of tickets/70% of money.
EARLY WEEK UPDATE: Penn State has toggled between the -3.5 opener and -3 multiple times in Borgata Sports' college football Week 5 odds. On Monday night, the Nittany Lions are at -3.
"I think you are going to see this game toggle between 3.5 and 3 all week," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "Penn State is always a popular play here.
"With this being one of the biggest games on the schedule for them, we will see plenty of support for the Nittany Lions."
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 3 Penn State is 3-0 SU, but 0-3 ATS, failing to cover as massive chalk against overmatched opponents. In Week 3, the Nittany Lions led Villanova 52-0 in the waning seconds, then gave up a touchdown on the final play, winning 52-6 as 46.5-point home faves.
Penn State had a bye in Week 4 and should be fresh for this massive Big Ten matchup.
No. 6 Oregon (4-0 SU/3-1 ATS) did play in Week 4, but it was an easy matchup. The Ducks drilled Oregon State 41-7, narrowly covering as 33.5-point home favorites.
Penn State hit Circa Sports' college football odds Week 5 market as 3-point home chalk, with a total of 52.5. The Nittany Lions then toggled between -3/-3.5 a couple times before settling at -3.5 Sunday evening.

+2.5 (-105) | o54.5 (-108)
u54.5 (-112) | -142 +120 |
- Opening point spread: Georgia -3
- Opening moneyline: Georgia -150/Alabama +130
- Opening total: Over/Under 54 points scored
- Time: 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday (ABC)
GAME DAY UPDATE: Georgia is -2.5 at BetMGM, 75 minutes before kickoff. The Bulldogs opened -3.5 and spent much of the week toggling between -3.5/-3. But Friday afternoon brought a move down to Georgia -2.5 (-115), and the line went to -2.5 flat this morning.
Still, the road 'dog is the need.
"It's the rare rooting for Alabama happening tonight," BetMGM trading manager Christian Cipollini said.
The total is at 53.5, matching the opener, though the number spent much of the week at 52.5. BetMGM needs the Under, no surprise.
LATE WEEK UPDATE: At 8 p.m. ET Friday, the host Bulldogs are -2.5 (-115) in ESPNBET's college football Week 5 odds. That's down from the opener of Georgia -3.5. In fact, Georgia has toggled between -3.5/-2.5 at various juice throughout the week.
"Earlier in the week, Georgia was getting about 80% of spread bets and handle. But action has been coming back toward Alabama a bit," ESPNBET senior trading director Adrian Horton said.
The total is up to 54.5 (Under -115) from a 53.5 opener. When accounting for all bet types (straight/parlays etc.), tickets are 4/1 and money 3/1 on the Over.
MIDWEEK UPDATE: As of 4 p.m. ET Thursday, Georgia is laying 3 points in DraftKings Sportsbook's college football odds Week 5 market. The Bulldogs opened -3.5 and have been at some iteration of -3 since late Sunday afternoon.
Early spread play is solidly on the home favorite, with Georgia netting 81% of bets/74% of money. Moneyline action is in a similar range.
DraftKings' total is at 53.5, matching the opener, with the number at 52.5 Monday-Wednesday. The Over is taking 81% of bets/80% of money.
EARLY WEEK UPDATE: This SEC clash brought some sharp bettors to Borgata Sports' college football odds Week 5 market.
"Upon opening this Georgia -3.5, we took some respected money with limit bets on Bama +3.5," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said, noting he moved Georgia to -3. "There are some 2.5s out there in the market.
"This will probably be a very evenly bet game, with good two-way action. It won’t end up being a big decision."
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 5 Georgia (3-0 SU/0-3 ATS) probably needed its Week 4 bye, after a thrilling Week 3 win at Tennessee. The Bulldogs turned a 21-7 first-quarter deficit into a shootout, tying it late at 38 to force overtime.
Georgia then won 44-41 in OT, but didn't cover laying 3.5 points.
No. 17 Alabama (2-1 SU and ATS) also had a Week 4 bye and likely needs all the rest it can get before heading to Athens, Ga. The Crimson Tide can ill afford another early-season loss, after losing at Florida State 31-17 as 13.5-point favorites.
In Week 3, Alabama rolled over Wisconsin 38-14 giving 17 points at home.
At 2 p.m. ET Sunday, Georgia opened -3 in Circa Sports' college football Week 5 odds. Over the next two hours, the spread bounced between Bulldogs -3/-3.5 a couple times, then settled at -3 again.
The total dipped from 54 to 52.5 in a hurry, then stabilized at 53 Sunday night.

The total is at 58.5 (Under -115), reaching that high point in the last half hour, after opening at 55.5 and bottoming out early in the week at 54.5. Tickets are 3/1 and money 5/1 on the Over.

DK opened the total at 55.5, went to 54.5 Monday, returned to 55.5 Wednesday and is now at 56.5. It's all Over action, at 82% of bets/89% of dollars.
EARLY WEEK UPDATE: LSU is ranked No. 4, but it's No. 13 Ole Miss getting the early shove. The Rebels have gone from -1.5 to -2.5 in Borgata Sports' college football odds Week 5 market.
"We know this Ole Miss team can put up points and currently has the No. 9 offense in the country," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "But LSU’s defense has suddenly become a key part of its early season success.
"So this will be strength on strength here. I doubt this number gets to 3. It will probably remain right around 1.5 or 2.5 up until kickoff."
From Monday to Tuesday, this line returned to Ole Miss -1.5.
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: LSU (4-0 SU/2-2 ATS) ostensibly had a Week 4 bye, hosting FCS outfit Southeastern Louisiana. The Tigers breezed to a 55-10 victory, falling a little short of the cover as massive 48.5-point favorites.
Ole Miss (4-0 SU/3-1 ATS) returns to SEC play after a tuneup game vs. Tulane in Week 4. The Rebels rolled to a 45-10 victory laying 11.5 points at home.
At 1:55 p.m. ET Sunday, Ole Miss went up as 1.5-point home chalk at Circa Sports. Within 30 minutes, the line dropped to pick 'em, but later Sunday, it rebounded to Ole Miss -1/-1.5. The total opened at 56 and went to 55 after a few hours.

Ohio State opened -9.5 and got as low as -8 Wednesday. Spread tickets are running 2/1 on the Buckeyes, but spread money is dead even.
"There's no real need there," BetMGM trading manager Christian Cipollini said.
The total is at 53.5 (Over -115), up from a 52.5 opener and 51.5 low point as late as Thursday. Tickets and money are 3/1-plus on the Over.
LATE WEEK UPDATE: For Saturday games at ESPNBET, no team is taking more spread bets or spread money than Ohio State. That said, this line got down to Buckeyes -7.5 from a -10.5 opener.
Over the course of Friday, the Buckeyes advanced from -7.5 to -8.5, where the line stood at 8:30 p.m. ET. Accounting for all bet types (straight/parlays etc.), Ohio State is netting 73% of spread tickets/61% of spread dollars.
ESPNBET's total is out to 52.5 from a 48.5 opener, with tickets and money approaching 4/1 on the Over.

By Sunday evening, Ohio State (3-0 SU/2-0-1 ATS) was down to -8.5, and the Buckeyes bottomed out at -7.5 (-115) Wednesday. As of 4:30 p.m. ET Thursday, it's Ohio State -8.5.
Although the line surged toward home underdog Washington (3-0 SU/2/1 ATS), spread tickets are running 4/1 and spread money 2/1 on Ohio State.
The total opened at 52.5, bottomed out at 50.5 (Over -115) at 4 p.m. ET Thursday, then quickly rebounded to 51.5 (Over -115). Tickets are 4/1 and money 2.5/1 on the Over.

Auburn | -6.5 (-108)

- Opening point spread: Texas A&M -7.5
- Opening moneyline: Texas A&M -225/Auburn +195
- Opening total: Over/Under 51.5 points scored
- Time: 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday (ESPN)

Spread tickets are running 2/1 and spread money 2.5/1 on the host Aggies.
BetMGM's total is at 51.5, matching the opener after stretching out to 53.5 briefly Friday.
MIDWEEK UPDATE: At 3 p.m. ET Thursday, Texas A&M is laying 6.5 points in DraftKings' college football odds Week 5 market. That's down a notch from Sunday afternoon's opener of Aggies -7, but up a notch from an early low point of -6.
A&M has been steady at -6.5 since Monday afternoon. Spread tickets are running 4/1 and spread money almost 2/1 on the Aggies.
DK's total has spent most of the week at 52.5, after opening 51.5. The Over is seeing 85% of early tickets and practically all the early money.
EARLY WEEK UPDATE: The host Aggies are down a tick in Borgata Sports' Week 5 college football odds, from -7 to -6.5 as of Monday night.
"We saw some early money take the 7 with Auburn," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "Auburn is coming in off a tough loss to Oklahoma, with some questionable calls going against them.
"Now, the Tigers are facing a well-rested Aggies team that may be looking for some revenge, after a tough loss at Auburn last season."
Indeed, Auburn beat A&M 43-41 in quadruple overtime last year.
Borgata's total is up to 52.5 from a 51.5 opener.
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Texas A&M (3-0 SU/1-2 ATS) picked a great time to get its first spread cover of the season. In Week 3, the Aggies went to Notre Dame as 6.5-point underdogs and pulled off a 41-40 upset with a touchdown in the waning seconds.
Ninth-ranked Texas A&M then had a Week 4 bye.
Auburn (3-1 SU/2-2 ATS) was covering much of the game and even led 17-16 midway through the fourth quarter at Oklahoma. But the Tigers gave up a TD – stopping a subsequent 2-point attempt – then took a safety with 1:06 left and lost 24-17 catching 6.5 points.
At 1:55 p.m. ET Sunday, Texas A&M opened as a 7.5-point home favorite in Circa Sports' college football Week 5 odds. The spread dipped to A&M -7 within four minutes, then went straight to -6 Sunday night. The total opened at 51.5 and went to 52.5 late Sunday night.

DK's total is at 60.5 from a 57.5 opener, with stops at 58.5 and 59.5 along the way. The Under is getting 70% of bets/73% of money.
EARLY WEEK UPDATE: Early Monday evening, Borgata Sports moved No. 8 Florida State from its -7.5 opener down to -7.
"This is a possible lookahead spot here for the Seminoles, who are coming off back to back 50-plus-point victories. They have Miami looming the following week," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "We’ve seen a little bit of early money trickle in on Virginia.
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Florida State (3-0 SU and ATS) followed its Week 1 upset of Alabama with a couple of easy wins vs. overmatched opponents. In Week 4, the Seminoles blasted Kent State 66-10 laying 45.5 points at home.
Virginia (3-1 SU and ATS) had no issues with Stanford in Week 4. The Cavaliers built a 38-14 lead in the third quarter and coasted to a 48-20 victory giving 16.5 points at home.
Circa Sports, which leads the way each Sunday with college football openers, pegged Florida State-Virginia at Seminoles -7 (-115) at 1:30 p.m. ET. The total opened at 58.5, and there was no immediate movement on either number in college football Week 5 odds.

- Opening point spread: USC -6.5
- Opening moneyline: Southern Cal -265/Illinois +225
- Opening total: Over/Under 59.5 points scored
- Time: Noon ET Saturday (FOX)
GAME DAY UPDATE: With kickoff less than 30 minutes out, Southern Cal is -7 (-105) in BetMGM's college football odds Week 5. The Trojans have toggled between the -6.5 opener and -7 a few times this week.

"We'll be rooting for Illinois and the Under," BetMGM trading manager Christian Cipollini said.
The total opened at 59.5, was at 60.5 earlier this morning and is now at 61.5 (Under -115), with tickets 4/1 and money almost 9/1 on the Over.
MIDWEEK UPDATE: Interestingly, back on Sept. 17, DraftKings Sportsbook had a lookahead line of USC -1.5 in college football Week 5 odds. However, after Illinois got plastered at Indiana 63-10, the line reopened Sunday afternoon at Southern Cal -6.
The Trojans went to -6.5 in short order Sunday, then advanced to -7 for a few hours Monday before settling at -6.5. USC is getting 64% of early spread bets/76% of early spread dollars.
DraftKings' total is at 60.5, up a point from the 59.5 opener. The Over is taking 69% of bets/88% of money so far.
EARLY WEEK UPDATE: Southern Cal opened -6.5 in Borgata Sports' college football odds Week 5 market. On Monday night, the Trojans were up to -7.
"Is anyone willing to take Illinois here, coming off the drubbing they received from Indiana in prime time on Saturday night?" Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "Having these California Big Ten teams head east, especially in an early game, is never ideal for bettors to back them
"So this may be a game that people are shying away from."
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 21 USC (4-0 SU/2-2 ATS) had little trouble dispatching Michigan State 45-31 in Week 4. But the Trojans fell short of cashing as 18.5-point home favorites.
Illinois (3-1 SU and ATS) entered Week 3 Saturday ranked ninth. That change dramatically to No. 23 in the latest AP poll, after the Illini got boatraced 63-10 as 7-point underdogs at No. 19 Indiana.
Southern Cal opened -6.5 at 1:50 p.m. ET Sunday in Circa Sports' college football odds Week 5 market. The total opened at 59.5.

GAME DAY UPDATE: Notre Dame is -4.5 (-115) at BetMGM, with 15 minutes or so until kickoff. The Fighting Irish opened -6 and by midweek were down to -4.5, with no number movement since then.
In digital action (mobile/online) at BetMGM, it's 2/1 tickets and 3/1 money on Notre Dame.
"We'll be rooting for Arkansas and the Under," BetMGM trading manager Christian Cipollini said.
The total opened at 64.5, stood at 63.5 earlier this morning and is now 64.5 again.
MIDWEEK UPDATE: DraftKings Sportsbook opened Notre Dame as 6.5-point road chalk, but by Tuesday had plunged to -4. On Wednesday evening, the line nudged to Fighting Irish -4.5, where it remains at 3 p.m. ET Thursday.
However, spread action belies that drop, with Notre Dame netting 79% of tickets/69% of money on the spread so far.
The total is at 63.5, moving there 90 minutes ago after spending the first four days of the week at 64.5. The Over is getting 59% of early tickets/89% of early money.
EARLY WEEK UPDATE: This spread has seen a half-point move in Borgata Sports' college football Week 5 odds.
"We opened Notre Dame -6, saw some early money come in on the 'dog and moved to 5.5," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said Monday afternoon. "This is a tough stretch for the Razorbacks, coming off two straight losses at the hands of Ole Miss and Memphis
"Now, they're facing the first of three ranked opponents in a row. I made this game 5, so it’s coming back that direction now."
In fact, on Tuesday morning, Notre Dame is down to -4.5.
OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 22 Notre Dame (1-2 SU and ATS) took until Week 4 to notch its first win of the season. The Fighting Irish bounced back from a Week 3 upset loss to Texas A&M by waxing Purdue 56-30 as 24.5-point home favorites.
Arkansas (2-2 SU/1-3 ATS) had a 28-10 lead against Memphis late in the second quarter. But the Razorbacks imploded from there, scoring only 3 points the rest of the way and losing 32-31 as 7.5-point road faves.
Notre Dame opened -6 with a hefty total of 64.5 at Circa Sports.
