Heisman Trophy odds for the 2024 season are off and running, now that the college football season is underway. No surprise, the race is quarterback heavy at the top.
There's also been a change at the top. Texas QB Quinn Ewers, fresh off a big road win vs. Michigan, vaulted to the top spot. And stock in Colorado's two stars plunged after the Buffaloes got rolled at Nebraska.
Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 Heisman Trophy odds: action, movement and betting trends. Check back regularly for updates, and make sure to use our BetMGM bonus code available to new registrants when you're ready to bet on the action!
Heisman Trophy Odds
Flavors of the Week
A lot of the offseason hype – and sharp play over the summer – was on Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel. After Week 1, Gabriel was the +650 front-runner in BetMGM's Heisman Trophy odds.
However, with Quinn Ewers directing Texas in a 31-12 rout of Michigan at the Big House, he's the notable mover of the week. Ewers opened as the +800 co-favorite months ago, and he actually slipped to the +1200 co-sixth choice after Week 1.
Then he completed 24 of 36 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns, with no interceptions, in the win over the Wolverines. BetMGM responded by shooting Ewers to the +600 favorite over the weekend, and by Tuesday, he was at +500.
In digital betting (mobile/online) at BetMGM, Ewers is No. 2 in ticket count but is just sixth in money.
"There was definitely an uptick after the Michigan game, but he's still a winner for the book right now. So as it stands, we'd be happy to see Ewers take the trophy home in December," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.
Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava continues to attract attention through two weeks. When this market opened months ago, Iamaleava was not far behind the favorites, as the +1100 fifth choice. Ahead of Week 0, he'd slipped back a bit to the +1500 eight choice.
In Week 2, Iamaleava helped the Vols to a 51-10 wipeout of host North Carolina State. He threw for two TDs and had a touchdown run, though he also had a pair of INTs
Iamaleava is now the +1100 co-sixth choice with Alabama's Jalen Milroe. However, the Tennessee QB is No. 1 in ticket count and money in BetMGM's odds to win the Heisman.
"Nico has been spectacular, and bettors – particularly from Tennessee – have certainly taken notice. He's our biggest realistic liability to win the Heisman at the moment," Magee said.

Miami QB Cam Ward is still rising on the Heisman odds board. Ward opened +2000, got to +950 after Week 1 and is now the +700 second choice behind Ewing. Following as co-third choices are Dillon, Georgia QB Carson Beck and Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart.
Others To Watch
A week ago, Colorado two-way standout Travis Hunter injected himself right into the Heisman Trophy odds mix. He had three TDs as a wideout and a key interception as a cornerback in the Buffs' Week 1 win over North Dakota State.
But Colorado got blasted at Nebraska in Week 2. The Buffaloes trailed 28-0 at halftime and ultimately lost 28-10. Hunter had 10 catches for 110 yards, but no TDs. And his team's overall lackluster effort hurt him, too.
Pre-Week 0, Hunter was +5000. Post-Week 1, he was BetMGM's +1500 ninth choice. Now, he's well down the list at +3500, matching his opening number months ago.
Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders took a big hit, as well. Sanders threw a pick-six in the loss and had just one TD pass, which was window dressing midway through the fourth quarter.
BetMGM slid Sanders from +2000 to +4000.
"Colorado is going to have to really turn this season around for either player to get on the plane to New York," Magee said. "Hunter definitely still has upside due to playing both sides of the ball, but Sanders is going to have to turn this offense around and put up a lot more impressive numbers than what he posted in Lincoln last week.
"I wouldn't say they're cooked just yet, just because of the media attention they get almost every week. But another performance like what we saw vs. Nebraska, and it'll be hard for any voter to argue either can win the Heisman, let alone get on the stage."
