TCU HORNED FROGS vs. COLORADO BUFFALOES BETTING PREDICTION

The Horned Frogs and Buffaloes have never squared off on the gridiron, so this is a first. TCU also plays its first game under the direction of head coach Sonny Dykes, after years with Gary Patterson at the helm. The Horned Frogs are looking to rebound after a rare losing season, winning just five times in 12 games in 2021.

The Buffaloes weren't a good football club in 2021, posting just four victories in 12 overall outings, while going 6-6 ATS. The UNDER was also 7-5 in 12 overall contests. Under the direction of Karl Dorrell, the Buffaloes are 8-10 SU since 2020, and it might be another gloomy 2022 season after some key defections via the transfer portal, including RB Jarek Broussard, who joined former CU head coach Mel Tucker Jr. at Michigan State.

Score Prediction: TCU 33, Colorado 20

TCU HORNED FROGS BETTING ANALYSIS

While TCU has no history against Colorado, it has played a Pac-12 team recently. Last season TCU edged Cal 34-32 in a game which easily cashed the OVER, but the Horned Frogs didn't come close to covering the double-digit number.

TCU has had very good success against the Pac-12, and if conference realignment should rear its ugly head again, the Horned Frogs might want to kick the tires on joining the league. TCU has won seven straight games against Pac-12 teams since the start of the 2006 season, going 3-4 ATS in those outings while cashing the OVER in all but one of those contests.

While the Horned Frogs are good against the Pac-12, they are just 1-3-1 ATS in the past five non-conference games, while going 0-4 ATS in the past four on the road.

For totals, the OVER is 5-1 in TCU's past six games in the month of September, while going 4-1 in the past five non-conference games and 6-1 in the past seven outings against the Big 12.

COLORADO BUFFALOES BETTING ANALYSIS

The Buffaloes last faced a Big 12 team in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, and the Longhorns dispatched CU 55-23 in a game which easily saw the OVER connect. Colorado hasn't defeated a Big 12 team since leaving the conference for the Pac-12 in 2011. They're 0-2 SU/ATS, both in bowl games, against foes from its former conference. In fact, if you include their time inside the conference, Colorado is just 2-7-1 ATS in the past 10 vs. Big 12.

It's all UNDER all the time for the Buffs lately, going 5-2 in the past seven games in Boulder, and 5-1 in the previous six contests outside of the conference.

Colorado scored just 18.8 PPG last season to rank 121st in FBS, while ranking 100th or worse in the country in both rushing and passing yards per game. This is a team which struggled to score points, while also posting so-so defensive numbers. TCU will look to add to the recent woes of Colorado, and should get the Dykes era off to a grand start at the expense of CU.
