The week of the 2020 Masters has finally arrived and the last major of the 2020 golf season will take place this weekend at Augusta National Golf Club. 

Similar to other sporting events in 2020, this tournament had been moved to the fall from the spring due to the spread of the coronavirus.

Thursday Nov. 12 to Sunday Nov. 15

Make a note that golfers must start the tournament for action and all bets are action as long as the tournament is completed anytime in 2020.

The event will take place without fans this year as well.

As of Sunday evening, oddsmakers at FanDuel Sportsbook have Bryson DeChambeau listed as a +800 betting favorite to win the final major of the season. 

After DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson (+800) is the second choice while International golfers Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy are also in the same neighborhood at 10/1 and 13/1 odds respectively. 

Justin Thomas, who won the 2017 PGA Championship, received some attention this week as his odds moved from 14/1 to 12/1.

Johnson is the winner of the FedEx Cup Playoffs while DeChambeau recently captured the U.S. Open from Winged Foot. 

Rahm has never won a major golf tournament but Rory has four of them, two victories at the PGA Championship (2012, 2014) and one U.S. Open and Open Championship. A win at Augusta this weekend would complete the 'grand slam' for McIlroy.

Tiger Woods, the defending champion, is sitting at 42/1 (+4200) odds to repeat. On Monday, Woods was a 34/1 betting choice so you can see that most bettors are avoiding him this weekend.

Betting on the Masters has produced great returns for golf bettors historically and the last five years have been no different.

Tiger Woods captured the 2019 Masters with a score of 13-under 275. It was the 15th major championship for Woods and the first since winning the 2008 U.S. Open. His comeback capped a remarkable recovery from debilitating injuries and embarrassing personal problems. Woods closed as high as a 14/1 (Bet $100 to win $1,400) betting choice to capture the event. This was his fifth time that he earned the green jacket at Augusta National Golf Club.

Prior to Woods winning last season, Patrick Reed cashed as a 50/1 choice in 2018.

Bettors should make a note that we haven’t seen a repeat winner at the Masters since Woods completed the feat in 2001 and 2001.

Also, we haven’t seen the United States capture three straight green jackets since 2007 when the Americans were on a four-year run of victories.

The last two international golfers to win the Masters were Sergio Garcia (30/1) and Danny Willett (50/1), doing so in 2017 and 2016 respectively.
