NBA Best Bets | Expert Picks for Sunday, Feb. 25

Nuggets vs Warriors

by Michael Crosson

In the grand scheme of things, you could say the Warriors are having a pretty underwhelming campaign – currently positioned 10th in the Western Conference standings with a record of 29-26 on the season.

However, that certainly hasn’t been the case in the month of February. After posting a losing record of 19-24 through 43 games, the Warriors have quickly turned things around by winning 10 of their last 12 contests – while ranking top-4 in offensive and defensive rating over the last 30 days.

Tonight, the Warriors stare down the barrel of a huge test as the defending champs come to town. But in some ways, they are catching a little bit of a break by hosting Denver at the Chase Center.

The Nuggets own a solid record of 38-19 on the season – currently positioned fourth in the Western Conference standings. However, you certainly wouldn’t know it based on their performances away from Ball Arena, highlighted by Denver yielding records of 22-5 at home, opposed to 16-14 on the road.

With that in mind, the Warriors are 0-3 SU in three matchups against Denver this season. However, they still managed to cover the spread in all three of those contests – and this is a completely different Golden State team than the one the Nuggets faced back in November and December.

The Warriors are 10-2 SU and ATS in their last 12 games. I’m going to ride the wave with Golden State at home tonight.

Pick: Warriors ML (-105)

Bucks vs 76ers

by Nick Parsons

Bucks @ 76ers Over 233.5 Total Points (-110)

Both teams have been playing to several lower-scoring games of late, but all signs point to a much higher-scoring shootout in my opinion here.

The Bucks are 36-21 overall, but just 13-14 on the road, while Philadelphia is 33-23, including 18-12 at home.

The Bucks broke a two-game slide with a 112-107 win at Minnesota last time out. Milwaukee has seen the total go UNDER in five straight now, but that's significant to note here as Milwaukee has in fact seen the total go OVER the number in eight of its last 12 after playing to five or more straight UNDERS in a row.

The Bucks won this game 118-117 back on October 26th, and I believe we'll have an even more wide-open affair here as well this time around.

The 76ers broke a two-game slide with a 104-97 victory over Cleveland last time out. Philly has seen the total go UNDER in three straight, but note that the 76ers have in fact seen the total go OVER the number in four of their last five after playing to three or more straight UNDERS in a row.

I say this faster-paced affair eclipses the posted number sooner, rather than later. The play is the OVER.
