Warriors vs Knicks

by Michael Crosson

Not too long ago, New York was arguably the hottest team in basketball. The Knicks closed the month of January on a scorching 15-2 run, while leading the entire league in net rating in those 17 contests with an impressively balanced attack – ranking 7th in offensive rating and 1st in defensive rating across that window.

Unfortunately, however, the Knicks run of dominance came to a screeching halt in the days leading up to the All-Star Break – and they still haven’t been able to get the train back on the tracks. Since February 3, the Knicks have posted miserable records of 3-7 SU and 1-9 ATS, while ranking 15th in offensive rating and 30th in defensive rating in their last 10 contests.

And things certainly won’t get any easier for them tonight with Golden State coming to town.

On the flip side, the Warriors have been on a bit of a roller coaster all season – currently positioned 10th in the Western Conference standings with a record of 30-27, while ranking 13th in net rating on the season, as a whole.

Make no mistake about it though. The Warriors have been playing their best basketball of the season as of late, and there’s no signs of them slowing down anytime soon.

After posting a record of 19-24 through January 27, the Warriors have completely flipped the switch in the month of February – yielding records of 11-3 SU and ATS in their last 14 games, while ranking top-five in both offensive and defensive rating since that point.

This is a matchup between a pair of teams trending in totally opposite directions. So I’m going to back Golden State to keep the momentum going at MSG tonight.

Pick: Warriors -4 (-110)

Bucks vs Hornets

by Nick Parsons

Bucks @ Hornets Over 216 Total Points (-110)

Both teams have been playing to several lower-scoring games of late, but everything finally points to more of a shootout here in my opinion here in Charlotte on Thursday night.

Milwaukee is 38-21, but just 14-14 on the road. The Bucks have now won three straight, both SU and ATS. That includes a 123-85 win at home over these very Hornets last time out.

That result though is significant for two reasons, as Charlotte has seen the total go OVER the number in seven of its last ten in trying to avenge a SU/ATS road loss vs. an opponent in which it was held to 89 or fewer points in.

And also because the Bucks have seen the total eclipse the posted number in three of their last four after playing to three or more straight UNDERS in a row.

With each team pushing the pace like I suspect, everything points to this total flying OVER the number before the final horn blares.
