NASHVILLE PREDATORS vs. VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS PREDICTIONS

The Predators doubled up the Anaheim Ducks Monday to kick off the West Coast road trip, but Nashville turned around and got hammered in Los Angeles by the Kings, 6-1. Nashville is still a very solid 7-3 across the past 10 games overall, and it hasn't lost back-to-back games since Feb. 26-March 2. Defense and goaltending have been an issue for the Preds, coughing up at least three goals in four consecutive games, allowing 4.3 goals per game during the span. The OVER has cashed in each of those outings.

The Golden Knights tried to bring in some reinforcements at the trade deadline, and but got a guy back that was previously discarded. The strange Evgenii Dadonov trade resulted in the league voiding the deal. Google that one for a good read. The Knights need some offense, getting blanked in each of the past two games at Minnesota and at Winnipeg. Vegas has been outscored 7-0 in the past two games. Logan Thompson has been holding down the fort with Robin Lehner (knee) nursing an injury, and perhaps in doubt to return for the season.

For VGK, they just need to figure out a way to get on the board. Two consecutive shutouts with an offense like Vegas is inexplicable. They need to step up and get more offensive production with Logan Thompson trying to hold down the fort.

The Golden Knights are just 2-7 in the past nine games overall, and on the bubble for a playoff spot in the Pacific Division. They're also just 2-6 in the past eight against winning teams, while going 5-11 in the past 16 against Western Conference teams. VGK is 4-1 in the past five at home, so they'll certainly be glad to be back in The Fortress.

As far as totals are concerned, the OVER is 5-2 in the past seven games, while going 4-1 in the past five against winning teams. The UNDER is 10-4-1 in the past 15 against teams with from the Western Conference, while going 7-1 in the past eight against Central Division foes.

NASHVILLE PREDATORS vs. VEGAS GOLDEN KNIGHTS BETTING CONCLUSION

These teams met on Jan. 4 in Las Vegas, with the Predators picking up the 3-2 win behind Juuse Saros against Logan Thompson. Nashville avenged a 5-2 loss to VGK at Bridgestone Arena in the first regular-season meeting back on Nov. 24, a game which Lehner started against Saros.

Vegas looks like a rudderless ship right now, and the play is Nashville on the road. This is a team which has been a lot more consistent lately, and won in Las Vegas against Thompson already this season. The Golden Knights are due for an offensive breakout after getting shut out the past two games, but you have to keep picking against VGK until it can start winning on a regular basis again.
