The Golden Knights are on the outside looking in for a playoff spot in the Western Conference, but that might not last long if they play like they did last time out in Calgary. Vegas posted an emphatic 6-1 road win against the first-place Flames, pulling to within two points of the Dallas Stars and Nashville Predators, and one point of the Los Angeles Kings, in the Western Conference standings. Vegas has seven games remaining, while Dallas and Nashville have eight games left, and Los Angeles has just six.
Speaking of emphatic, Edmonton posted a 4-0 shutout win behind Mike Smith against the aforementioned Predators on Thursday night, helping VGK out in the process.
