Two New York teams will battle it out for preseason supremacy when the Giants “travel” to face off against the Jets. Both teams head into the final winning both of their preseason games, but it has not been without some major bumps in the road.

For starters, the Jets are minus their golden goose in Zach Wilson, as he had to undergo arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus. The fortunate news is that the Jets now have Joe Flacco as their primary backup. Flacco has a ton of experience to manage the Jets into an efficient stretch until Wilson returns, but the preseason will ultimately limit his minutes.

The Giants have a lot of questions to answer themselves heading into the season. The biggest question is that of Saquon Barkley. His health has been a massive issue since entering the league and will remain so until proven otherwise. The Giants declined the 5th year option for Daniel Jones, which could spell the end of his time in New York if he doesn’t make positive things happen.

Brian Daboll gets his shot in a somewhat controversial hire, but it is a well deserved opportunity since he positioned the Bills nicely the last four seasons. This preseason matchup is a yearly tradition in New York and was won by the Jets last season by a score of 12-7.

This line has been moving steadily up in favor of the Jets after they opened up as -3 favorites. The line now sits at -4.5 at bet365 Sportsbook and is listed at -110 on both sides. A $100 wager would net a return of $90.91 profit. The last preseason game has historically been the most volatile betting week. The final polish for teams as they head into the first game of the year tends to lead to an uncertainty of what to expect.

The Jets were primarily run behind Mike White and Chris Strevler, and we expect much of the same. The Giants utilized Tyrod Taylor and Davis Webb for a majority of their quarterback minutes. The personnel to be utilized may be worth a deeper look if you are considering a wager on the total. The total is set to 38 with a price of -110 on the over and under.
