Sports betting always involves risk taking to a certain extent. There is no such thing as a lock no matter how much confidence you have in a certain play. Betting on the Philadelphia 76ers as three-point home underdogs in Friday night’s game against the Miami Heat is all about risk.

The team’s star player Joel Embiid has missed the first two games of this Eastern Conference semifinal matchup with a facial injury and concussion. The early results have been predictable with the Heat winning both games straight-up and against the spread. Embiid is currently listed as out for the 7 p.m. (ET) tip at the Wells Fargo Center, but these is still a remote chance he is cleared to play.

You can bet on the Sixers to bounce back while also taking all the risk out of that bet at Betfred. Through a special promotion with VegasInsider, new customers at Betfred can get a risk-free bet up to $500! Using the promo code VIBONUS when signing up, your initial sports bet is covered up to $500. Betfred is currently available in Colorado and Arizona.

Embiid is considered one of two favorites to win this year’s NBA Most Valuable Player. Without him in the lineup, the Heat won the series opener 106-92 as 7.5-point home favorites on Monday night. Two days later, they rolled to a 119-103 victory at home to easily cover the closing eight-point spread.

Miami is dealing with some injury concerns of its own with Kyle Lowery nursing a sore hamstring that kept him out of the first two games. However, Jimmy Butler returned to the starting lineup to score a combined 44 points on Monday and Wednesday night.

Philly got 34 points from Tyrese Maxey and 20 points from James Harden in Wednesday’s loss. Yet without Embiid on the floor, this team has been outmatched from the start in this best-of-seven series. A loss on Friday night would pretty much end the Sixers’ chance of advancing past the semifinal round for the fifth time in six seasons.

The recent betting trends are also stacked against the 76ers. Miami is now 11-3 against the spread in its last 14 games. The Heat have posted an 11-3-1 record ATS in their last 14 games on the road. Philadelphia has failed to cover in four of its last five games. The total at Betfred has gone OVER in four of the last five games between these two teams.
