The Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners will play the second of a three-game set at T-Mobile Park on Tuesday night. The Twins (36-28) enter the game as the leaders in the AL Central while Seattle (28-34) sits in fourth in the AL West, ahead of only the Los Angeles Angels. However, it was the Mariners who prevailed with a 5-0 shutout of the Twins last night and will look to keep the momentum rolling.

On the hill for the favored Twins is Sonny Gray. Gray was acquired from the Cincinnati Reds in a March trade and is in his first season with Minnesota. So far, the trade has gone well for the Twins, with Gray posting a 3-1 record in seven starts with a 2.41 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 33.2 innings. He’s allowing fewer than one baserunner per innings and has not allowed more than two earned runs in any start.

The Twins lost in Gray’s first two starts of the season but have gone 5-0 when he’s on the mound since.

Gray has been brilliant over his past three turns in the rotation, with a 3-0 record while pitching at least six innings in each contest. In that span, he’s allowed just three earned runs in 19 innings of work, walked just one batter, allowed zero home runs, and has 19 punch outs. He’s lowered his ERA by over a run in that stretch going from 3.68 to 2.41.

On the other side, the Mariners send 30-year-old lefty Marco Gonzales to the hill. Gonzales 3-6 record looks ugly, but he’s pitched relatively well this season with a 3.63 ERA in 12 starts while tossing 62 innings. He’s a low-strikeout pitcher, recording only 38 so far this season, and his biggest bugaboo is the home run ball. Gonzales has allowed 12 round-trippers this season, which is tied for eighth-most in MLB.

Caesars has plenty of props you can bet on for Gonzales, including whether he’ll record over or under 4.5 strikeouts (over is +114 and under is -157). He has had at least five punch outs in three of his 12 starts. You can also wager on whether or not he’ll allow over or under 2.5 earned runs (over -135, under -101).

Only twice in 12 starts has Gonzales allowed at least three earned runs in an outing. Remember you can get a $1,500 risk-free bet at Caesars using our promo code VIMAXSPORT15.

Twins star Byron Buxton has crushed Gonzales in his career, blasting three dingers in just seven at-bats against the lefty. Buxton is +260 to hit a homer in today’s contest. Two other Minnesota hitters have taken Gonzales deep in their careers; Gary Sanchez has one homer in seven trips to the dish – his only hit against Gonzales in those ABs – and Gilberto Celestino also has one homer, but he has faced Gonzales just twice. No player on Seattle’s active roster has ever homered off of Gray.
