The month of July has been fantastic for the UFC, and it all began on July 2^nd with Adesanya retaining his belt against Cannonier. Julianna Pena heads into UFC 277 with an improbable belt won at UFC 269 via a rear naked choke in just the second round. Nunes, by her own admission did not take Pena seriously and we expect a much different approach this time around. Pena upsetting Nunes was one of the biggest upsets in MMA history.

While Julianna Pena is the reigning champion, Amanda Nunes has more at stake on the rematch because her legacy is at risk.

The rest of the card will still have plenty of excitement. Drakkar Klose will have a two-inch height advantage against the wild card Rafa Garcia, who already has four fights to his name since his 2021 debut in the UFC. Klose was initially preparing for Carlos Diego Ferriera, but the McAllen, Texas fighter was forced to pull out due to sustaining an injury. This card was ultimately going to feature a few Texan fighters due to the Dallas, Texas location, unfortunately Ferriera will not be there.  

Klose was out for the better part of two years but returned to action in April with a second round KO/TKO of Brandon Jenkins. Klose matches up better against Garcia, but this fight will still prevent a challenge. Drakkar Klose is listed as -230 on the money line at FanDuel Sportsbook, while Rafa Garcia is listed as +184 on the comeback line.

While many UFC fans will be ready to tune in to the main event, another title fight will be taking place. Brandon Moreno will face Kai-Kara-France in a controversial title fight for the flyweight belt. Brandon Moreno utilized his gas tank to take the first fight against France that featured a ton of striking. Much of the same is to be expected this time around. FanDuel Sportsbook has Moreno as a -215 favorite on the money line while France is +172 on the money line. A $100 wager on Kai-Kara France would net a return of $172.

Heavyweights always provide a couple minutes of excitement before they eventually gas out. This PPV event will provide one of those matches when Derrick Lewis takes on Sergei Pavlovich. Both fighters will undoubtedly be looking for a finish, but it will be interesting to see which version of Derrick Lewis the American Airlines Center will be treated to. He has dropped two of his last three bouts, and we quite honestly think the end of his illustrious career might be near. If the Russian sees an opening, we expect the gas tank to unload and while he seeks the TKO/KO.
