Two teams heading in complete opposite directions will face each other in Seattle for the beginning of a series that will be just two games. The Nationals are in a complete rebuild, just two years after selling off at the trade deadline and marking Juan Soto as untradeable. Now he dons a San Diego Padres uniform with Josh Bell, which has ultimately left the Nationals without many weapons. Quite surprisingly, Nelson Cruz has remained. He isn’t the same power hitter he once was, but we felt could give a lot to a team needing some bats of the bench.

The Mariners are enjoying an improbable run at the play offs behind Julio Rodriguez, Ty France and the newly heathy Mitch Haniger. Due to the playoff chances, the Mariners found themselves as buyers for the first time in a blue moon. They went and got Carlos Santana to bolster the lineup and Luis Castillo to bolster an already impressive rotation.

The Mariners are in sitting in the final playoff spot, just 2.5 games ahead of the Baltimore Orioles. They are also just a half game behind the number one wild card spot in the Tampa Bay Rays. The one spot would guarantee some home playoff games, which is great for a team that has not experiences the playoffs since the 2001 season.

SI Sportsbook is offering all new players a chance to win $100 in free bets after you sign up using the VIBONUS code. To redeem the $100 in free bets you must place and win a bet. The qualifying bet must be a minimum of $5 and on odds of -120 or greater. Win the bet and SI Sportsbook will deposit $100 of free bets into your account within 24 hours. Free bets expire after seven days and are not included in your winnings.

SI Sportsbook has the Seattle Mariners listed as heavy -278 favorites, which would exclude a straight bet on the Mariners qualifying for the first wager to get the $100 in free bets. The run line is set to -1.5 for the Mariners, and the juice has been bouncing around between -115 to -125. If you can get it at the right time, a -120 line might pop up.

For the confident Nationals backer, they are coming in +215 on the money line. The run line is also plus money at +105. A $100 wager on the Nationals money line would net a $215 profit. Just a $5 wager won could net an extra $100 in free bets.

The pitching matchup will feature Erick Fedde and Robbie Ray. Robbie Ray has been up and down this season, but his last three starts have been all quality starts totaling 19.1 innings allowing just five earned runs. Nine of his last 12 starts Robbie Ray has allowed two earned runs or fewer. Fedde arrives in this game with a 4.95 ERA and has done slightly worse on the road with a 5.53 ERA.

He has allowed three earned or fewer in four of his last five starts, but an eight earned run start against the Braves has seen his ERA swell a bit. The Nationals have lost three of his last four starts heading into this matchup.

The total is set to 7.5 with the over being priced at even money. The under is listed at -120. Both sides have trended in opposite directions on the totals. The Nationals have seen the total go under in four of their last five games. The Mariners have seen the total go over at a 7-1-2 clip over the last 10 games.

SI Sportsbook will offer a plethora of betting options that include sides, totals, first five innings, live bets and even prop bets. Sign up using the VIBONUS code and get a possible $100 in free bets. To redeem the promotion, you must win your first bet of $5 on odds -120 or greater.

Until next time, enjoy the ride.
