UFC 260: MIOCIC VS. NGANNOU 2 Main Card Predictions

UFC 260 Odds Analysis

The two baddest men on the planet are set to scrap yet again on March 27th, in the UFC Apex.

The first time they faced, it was Stipe Miocic who walked away victorious, beating Francis Ngannou over five rounds to score a unanimous decision W.

Now, two of the best heavyweights of all time are set to fight again, in what promises to be a barnburner in the main event of UFC 260.

Beside the main event, the UFC 260 card features other exciting bouts such as:

  • Tyron Woodley vs. Vicente Luque
  • Sean O’Malley vs. Thomas Almeida

Check out my UFC 260 picks and predictions for the fights below.

SEAN O’MALLEY VS. THOMAS ALMEIDA
BANTAMWEIGHT BOUT

On March 27th we get to see the return of Sean O’Malley as he takes on the unranked Thomas Almeida.

The O’Malley hype train definitely lost some steam after a mid-fight injury led to a TKO loss against Marlon Vera, so it’ll be interesting to see how he handles this comeback.

That said, as long as O’Malley can avoid succumbing to another injury, he should win this fight easily.

Almeida is as pure a striker as you’re gonna get, with zero takedowns landed over the span of his 9-fight UFC career. This guy wants to strike with you, which is exactly what O’Malley wants too. O’Malley just plays that game way better than most.

The reach will be there for Sean, and his striking is just on another level for me. As long as he doesn’t hurt himself again, he closes the show in 2 rounds.

UFC 260: SEAN O’MALLEY VS. THOMAS ALMEIDA PREDICTIONS

Give me Sean O’Malley by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission (-115) per BetMGM

TYRON WOODLEY VS. VICENTE LUQUE
WELTERWEIGHT BOUT

Props to Tyron Woodley for taking this fight and not giving up on his career.

This will be the man’s fourth bout since losing his belt to Kamaru Usman via domination.

Since that fight, Woodley has won a single round. Just think about that for a second.

Luque is an extremely game and dangerous opponent who tries to take his opponents’ heads off. On top of that, he has youth on his side against the 38-year old Tyron Woodley.

Gotta go with Luque here. Woodley is just over the hill at this point. He could’ve probably won this back in the day, as Luque is quite hittable, but Woodley is a shell of his former self in 2021.

Tyron just seems to freeze against guys who bring the heat early and overwhelm him. He gets into a defensive mindset that he can’t shake.

That’s exactly what we can expect from Luque. High volume, big power, huge determination.

I’ll take Luque here.

UFC 260: TYRON WOODLEY VS. VICENTE LUQUE PREDICTIONS

Give me Luque via decision (+160) per BetMGM

Stipe Miocic owns a 6-1 career record since he captured the championship at UFC 198 in May of 2016. (AP)

MAIN EVENT: STIPE MIOCIC VS. FRANCIS NGANNOU 2
HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Main event time.

Miocic vs. Ngannou for the heavyweight title.

Ngannou wants to end this early and Miocic wants to drag the fight out. Who can impose their game plan?

Probably the champ, if you ask me.

Stipe showcased more composure in his last two fights against Daniel Cormier than I thought was possible for a man of his size. Great cardio, good boxing, and an iron chin. Mix in some good wrestling too.

Ngannou just lacks the fundamentals that make a champion. He only has that one punch, and Stipe knows it.

Go back and watch his fight against Rozenstruik, slow it down to 0.25 speed. Now tell me there aren’t any glaring openings in his defense when he lunges forward with just about zero technique.

Sure, it got him the win over Rozenstruik, but a simple slip and counter could have made the difference in that fight.

That’s what Stipe can do. His movement is good, and he survived the first time, didn’t he?

If Miocic loses this, it's probably due to age.

Nevertheless, I just don’t think Francis has the well-rounded skill set to be a champion.

I’ll take Stipe.

UFC 260: STIPE MIOCIC VS. FRANCIS NGANNOU 2 PREDICTIONS

Let’s not forget who won the first fight. I’ll take Miocic on the money-line at odds +110 at BetMGM
