Seton Hall looks to maintain its current winning form with a road game against the quietly dangerous Marquette Golden Eagles. Both of these schools are playing 'under the radar' basketball, in terms of playing very well with almost no national recognition. Both of these schools also saw an early season gauntlet, with impressive opponents thus far.

Seton Hall is much better than the 4-3 advertised, winning three straight games which includes an overtime win over Penn State and conference battle against St. John's. The three losses on the Pirates' resume are also impressive, losing by one to Louisville before losing back-to-back road games against Oregon and Rhode Island.

Marquette has racked up some impressive wins already, which includes a two-point victory over Wisconsin and a five-point win over Creighton. The two losses for Marquette are also impressive, losing to Wooden Award candidate Cade Cunningham and the Oklahoma State Cowboys by eight and UCLA by nine.

The glaring weakness for Seton Hall is playing on the road. The club struggles away from New Jersey, all three losses coming away from the Prudential Center. If the script follows, then Seton Hall will more than likely lose in this contest too - simply playing away from home.

The Pirates did win their last road game however, against a solid Penn State team in overtime. Perhaps that is the final straw to break the stubborn Pirates' back, and the team can start to feel self-conviction when playing on the road.

The role players have picked up for Seton Hall, as Sandro Mamukelashvili and Jared Rhoden can only do so much. Point total averages have increased for Myles Cade, Takal Molson and Shavar Reynolds - so expect more contributions from these three if Seton Hall plans to pull off a huge road win.

Seton Hall plays big basketball too. The Pirates rank 25th nationally in total blocks (30), rank 51st nationally in total rebounds (253) and rank fifth nationally in both free throws made and free throws attempted.

Marquette has been nothing short of impressive this season, winning big games while the losses have been solid battles. The Golden Eagles have only dropped one home game this season (to Oklahoma State), and have a great home win over Wisconsin.

Koby McEwen is the driving force of this offense, and provides great veteran leadership as a senior. Freshman Dawson Garcia, who was a top high school prospect, has transitioned to the college game smoothly and hasn't missed a beat since graduating.

Garcia is one of the top rebounders for this Marquette team, something they do pretty well and can cause issues against Seton Hall. Marquette has four players average six or more rebounds per game. The Golden Eagles rank 11th nationally in total rebounds (292) and 13th in blocks (33).

Unfortunately for Pirates fans and bettors, Marquette seems to be a 'whatever you can do, I can do better' club when comparing to Seton Hall's strengths. With the Golden Eagles playing at home, being slightly more consistent in similar strengths and Seton Hall's road struggles - Marquette might be the better wager here.

This is a toss up, make no mistake about it. Half betting seems to be the best strategy here, giving yourself some room in case a hedging opportunity presents itself. Marquette should win, but it's seems more likely that Seton Hall would play better to start on the road.

If you like Seton Hall then feel free to take them to cover (doing so in five of seven games), but Marquette to win the second half at home seems to be the safest bet unless they have a large double-digit lead at half.
