Odds Subject to Change

West Virginia gets the nod from oddsmakers, given a -4-point spread at home. West Virginia is 10-9 on the ATS, while Oklahoma has covered the spread in 11 of its last 17 games.

The point total is set at 143.5, which could go in either direction based on team trends. Oklahoma has gone UNDER in 10 of 17 games, although West Virginia has gone OVER in 13 of 19 games this season.

Betting Analysis – Oklahoma Sooners

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 12-5
  • ATS: 11-6
  • SU - Home: 10-1
  • SU - Away: 2-4
  • O/U: 7-10

Austin Reaves makes this team go, leading the club in points per game, rebounds per game and assists per game. He has scored 16 points or more in three straight games, four or more assists in five straight games and six or more rebounds in three straight road games.

Overall, this is a very efficient team. They rank 91st in points per game while also ranking 89th in points allowed per game. Three main statistics stand out for Oklahoma's strengths - free throws, rebounding and steals.

Oklahoma hits 74.1% of its free throws (ranks 68th nationally), average 37.4 rebounds per game (ranks 94th nationally) and averages 7.6 steals per game (ranks 69th). De'Vion Harmon, who averages 12.5 points per game, averages 1.2 steals per game but that's just the third-most on the team.

Elijah Harkless and Umoja Gibson average over 1.4 steals per game, while Gibson is also the best three-point shooter on the team. That might come in handy if Oklahoma can't bang down low with West Virginia's big man (will get to in a minute).

The paint will be crucial in this game for Oklahoma, as their free throw shooting and rebounding is in jeopardy entering the game. The Mountaineers have a beast of a big man down low, so both will be hard to come by. This game is on the shoulders' of Austin Reaves, as he leads the team in rebounding, free throw percentage and free throw attempts per game.

Betting Analysis – West Virginia Mountaineers

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 14-5
  • ATS: 10-9
  • SU - Home: 9-2
  • SU - Away: 5-3
  • O/U: 13-6

Derek Culver is the name to watch in this game. He averages a double-double, and will bear the burden of making sure Oklahoma doesn't play through their strengths on the glass and on the line.

Culver has scored 15 points or more in three of his last four games, while also seeing a double-double in two of his last four games. He has seen at least eight rebounds in five straight games, while also seeing 12 or more rebounds in four of his last eight.

If Culver produces like this, it will continue to open up the other Mountaineers to produce on offense. The most notable is Miles McBride, but Taz Sherman and Sean McNeil are also playing very well. West Virginia is on a three-game winning streak, overly impressive in their last two against Texas Tech and Kansas.

Yes, Culver and McBride are the catalysts of those results but McNeil saw 26 against Texas Tech and Sherman saw 25 against Kansas. The role player are beginning to step up, as the Mountaineers are one of the most dangerous teams currently.

However, West Virginia is known for inconsistent play. Those concerns are usually on the road, but the location seems not to matter much when Culver and McBride are playing their roles while the role players are beginning to play with scary conviction.

Oklahoma-West Virginia Predictions

With the confidence both teams are currently playing with, the OVER seems likely here. One team should easily touch 70 points, although it will be close as both to cross 70 is unlikely. With West Virginia's recent form, and playing at home, its tough to go against them.

Their 13-6 O/U is a bit better to play over Oklahoma's 7-10. The Sooners are better at covering the spread, which they may cover given the +4.

West Virginia should win this game though, regardless of the spread, which means the Mountaineers will likely cross 70 points. Expecting Oklahoma to not roll over on the road and perhaps even cover, they should be close behind to see the total go OVER.

  • Score Prediction: West Virginia 74 Oklahoma 70
  • Best Bets: OVER
