2022 COLORADO BUFFALOES BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

Following a 4-8 SU 2021 season, Colorado lost 22 players to the transfer portal and Head Coach Karl Dorrell replaced six members of his coaching staff. A big change may have been needed as the Buffaloes were blown-out in most all their losses. Good news for Colorado, there should not be much pressure in terms of expectations, but there is a ton of work to be done if this program wants to see any kind of success this season.

Colorado’s offense was horrible last season. The Buffs finished second last in the country in total yards per game, averaging 257.0 to go along with a lousy 18.8 points per game. Transfer tackle from Alabama, Tommy Brown, was a huge pick up as this offense needs time to operate. Dual-threat quarterback Brendon Lewis (1,540 YDS, 10 TD, 3 INT) returns after starting all 12 games last season but will compete with former Tennessee transfer JT Shrout who was hurt last season. Sam Houston transfer Ramon Jefferson (173 ATT, 1,155 YDS, 13 TD) will be the go-to back and tight-end Brady Russell (25 REC, 307 YDS, 0 TD) returns after leading the team in catches.

The Buffs have no sure-fire wins on their schedule, and I am not sure they have enough 50/50 games to cover their win total of 3.5. They will need to start their season with back-to-back wins against TCU and Air Force if they want to do so. After those two games, their best chances are on the road versus Arizona and at home against Arizona State. Those are the only four realistic games for the Buffs to win and they are bound to lose at least one of those. Best bet here is to back the under 3.5-win total (-150) for Colorado.

Best Bet: Under 3.5 wins (-150)

COLORADO BUFFALOES ODDS TO WIN PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIP

+25000

It would not be first time Colorado makes such a drastic turnaround from one season to the next. The Buffs won four games in 2015 and were not expected to do anything in 2016 but finished with 10 wins in a row and an appearance in the Pac-12 Championship game. I would not expect that kind of turn around this year, but you just never know. A small wager here if you think Colorado has some 2016 magic in them, but unrealistic for the most part.

COLORADO BUFFALOES ODDS TO WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

+50000

Colorado last won the National Championship in 1990 under Head Coach Bill McCartney. Maybe they will repeat in a few years on the 40-year anniversary, but the Buffs have a long way to go as of now. Stay away from this wager until Colorado can consistently start winning.

COLORADO BUFFALOES 2022 HEISMAN CONTENDERS & ODDS

Maddox Kopp (QB) +10000

A three-start recruit coming out of high school, Kopp comes over as a transfer from Houston after not seeing any playing time last season. I am not sure this is worth backing as Brendon Lewis has been taking the starting reps throughout the spring with JT Shrout backing him up. Best to avoid this bet until Kopp at least becomes the backup.
