2021 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Betting Odds, Predictions, Preview
The Yellow Jackets posted a 3-7 record last season, as they continue to build a roster to suit a pro-style, high-tempo offense after 11 years of the triple-option attack under former head coach Paul Johnson. It's been a rocky transition for head coach Geoff Collins, as he moves the Ramblin' Wreck into the 21st century on the gridiron. His first two seasons at the helm haven't been great, but there were some good signs in 2020.
Things started off well last season for the Jackets last season. They started out with a 16-13 road win at Florida State, and they posted 46 points in a win over Louisville on Oct. 9. They also had a season-high 56 points in a win over Duke on Nov. 28. Freshman Jeff Sims is a Collins recruit, brought in to run the new offense after a transition year under Lucas Johnson in 2019. Sims completed just 54.9 percent of his passes, while tossing 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. But he also tossed for 1,881 yards, and had a team-high 492 yards on the ground with six scores. As he matures, he'll cut down the mistakes and he could be this team's most exciting quarterback since Joe Hamilton.
The Yellow Jackets should get off to a quick start this season with home dates against Northern Illinois and Kennesaw State in the first two games. A trip to Clemson is a revenge game after getting drummed 73-7 last season, but expectations should be low for that game, and a neutral-location battle against North Carolina. However, a home game against Pittsburgh and a road game at Duke are very winnable, as are games at Virginia and home to Virginia Tech.
There might be a chill in the Georgia air in November, and the results on the field might be chilly, too. Trips to Miami and Notre Dame, with home games against Boston College and Georgia could potentially mean a winless month to wrap the season.
There is a good chance Georgia Tech falls right on the number the books have set at five wins. However, with a surprise along the way, perhaps a win over the likes of Boston College in November, might not only lead to a winning ticket with OVER 5 wins, but a bowl berth as well. That's my lean, OVER 5.
Preseason Best Bet: Over 5 wins (-113)

Georgia Tech Odds to win 2021 ACC Championship
Let's not get ridiculous here. This team is still figuring out how to win, and it's baby steps. If Georgia Tech can win as many games as they lose, it would be considered a win here. But they aren't ready to compete for championships at this juncture, although Collins has his club on an upward trajectory.
Georgia Tech Odds to Win 2021-22 College Football Playoff
The Yellow Jackets will be lucky to receive a bowl invitation somewhere like the Fenway Park Bowl, Military Bowl or Duke's Mayo Bowl, and they'll likely be eliminated from any fleeting thoughts of the CFP before the tips of the leaves even have any color.
