Kalani Sitake is riding high after BYU’s 2-0 start. The Cougars have already taken down two Pac 12 programs in Arizona and rival Utah, and they will get the opportunity to move to 3-0 against the Pac 12 when they host the Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday night in Provo. A victory in this game will likely mean a 5-0 start for BYU heading into their home game with Boise State on October 9.

BYU has done a great job establishing the run through its first two games. The Cougars have run for 392 yards and are averaging 4.9 YPC with Tyler Allgeier leading the way.

New quarterback Jaren Hall had some big shoes to fill replacing No. 2 overall pick Zach Wilson. While Hall hasn’t been as good as Wilson, he has been better than expected running this offense. He is the second-leading rusher with 128 yards while averaging 9.8 YPC, and he has completed 62.1% of his passes for 347 yards (6.0 YPA) with five touchdowns and no interceptions.

Arizona State has looked impressive in its first two games. However, the Sun Devils have yet to be tested. Southern Utah is a middling FCS program, and UNLV is one of the 10 or 15 worst programs in the FBS.

Jayden Daniels continues to shine in this offense. Daniels had an incredible freshman season in 2019 and was solid last year too. He has completed 73.2% of his passes for 307 yards with two touchdowns and an interception through his two games this year. Additionally, Daniels is ASU’s leading rusher with 165 yards and is averaging 8.7 YPC.

The Sun Devils have pounded their two previous opponents on the ground. Arizona State has run for 512 yards and nine touchdowns through its two games, averaging 5.9 YPC in their wins.
