GEORGIA STATE PANTHERS vs. APPALACHIAN STATE MOUNTAINEERS BETTING PREDICTION

The Panthers of Georgia State head to the mountains of North Carolina with a little jump in their step, having dispatched Georgia Southern by a 41-33 count last time out on Oct. 8. The Eagles, as you know, topped Nebraska and a ranked James Madison this past weekend, so that's a very nice win for the Panthers.

After opening the season 0-4 ATS, Georgia State has also covered the past two outings, and the OVER has connected in three of the previous four outings overall, and two of the team's losses in September came against Power 5 opponents South Carolina and North Carolina.

Appalachian State opened the season with that wild 63-61 loss to North Carolina in regulation, before heading down to Texas A&M for a monumental win. It's been up and down all season, needing a Hail Mary to top Troy, before losing to the aforementioned Dukes of JMU. App State bounced back with a win over FCS The Citadel, but faltered in a road trip last time out against lowly Texas State, losing outright as a 19-point favorite. Yosef has been Jekyll and Hyde this season, that's for sure.

GEORGIA STATE PANTHERS BETTING ANALYSIS

If you can grab the Panthers at double digits, run, don't walk, to the ATM, couch cushions and the car seats and find as much money as you can to bet on the visitors. Georgia State has the offense to more than hang with Appalachian State here, and don't expect to see a lot of defense, either. These mid-week Sun Belt Fun Belt games have traditionally been close, and high-scoring, and this one easily has that look based off of the early-season returns, as well as common opponents.

Georgia State is rolling up 29.8 PPG to rank 65th in the country, and it does a lot of its damage on the ground, piling up 234.3 rushing yards per game to rank 13th overall. App State is decent against the run, but there will still be plenty of yards to be hard for GSU. And defensively, Georgia State isn't very good, so you should feel great about the prospects of an OVER result.

The Panthers have cashed in seven of the past eight games on the road, too, while going 7-2 ATS in the past nine inside the conference. The Panthers are just 1-4 ATS in the past five tries against the Mountaineers, but the road team has hit in six of the past seven in the series, too.

APPALACHIAN STATE MOUNTAINEERS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Mountaineers are a VERY difficult team to handicap. This team scored 61 and lost at home to North Carolina, then went down to Texas A&M and put on a defensive show. This team had a miracle win over Troy, and hung tough against a previously unbeaten James Madison, then got boat-raced by a subpar Texas State team. So who will show up at KBS on Wednesday?

The Mountaineers have posted a 2-4 ATS mark overall, going 0-3 ATS at home against FBS opponents. The OVER is also 3-0 at home this season against FBS foes, with App State scoring at least 28, while yielding at least 28, in all three of those outings.

App State has some decent numbers on offense, especially with 286.3 passing yards per game to rank 28th in the country. Defensively, even after allowing 61 to UNC, it has allowed just 340.8 total yards per game to rank 29th overall. Still, on a cool night in the mountains of Watauga County in the 828, we should reach 60 on the field, and this should be a one-score game.
