LATEST UPDATE: As of 6:30 p.m. ET Saturday, an hour before kickoff, LSU is 3-point chalk in BetMGM's college football Week 3 odds. And it's reduced juice, so it's LSU -3 (-108)/Ole Miss +3 (-120).

LSU opened -2.5 (-115) and advanced to -3 in short order Sunday. The line stuck there until Wednesday night's news that Tigers QB Sam Leavitt was unexpectedly doubtful to play tonight. So BetMGM briefly backed up to -1.5/-1.

Almost as quickly, oddsmakers jumped to LSU -2.5, with no one buying the Leavitt news. The Tigers have been steady at -3 since Thursday night.

"We most certainly are going to want Ole Miss. There's good support for LSU moneyline and spread, on straight bets and parlays," BetMGM trading manager Tristan Davis said. "I would expect the support for LSU to continue through game time."

BetMGM's total is at 58.5, matching the opener, after peaking at 59.5 early in the week and bottoming out at 57.5 midweek.

"There's not much in it for the total. But in these prime-time games, we will always want the Under," Davis said.

FOURTH UPDATE: LSU is laying 3 points on the road in DraftKings Sports' college football odds Week 3, as of 3 p.m. ET Saturday. The Tigers opened -2.5 (-115) on Sunday and climbed to -3 in short order.

The line dipped to -2.5/-1.5 on midweek news that QB Sam Leavitt was purportedly doubtful. But that never really appeared to be the case, and the Tigers rebounded to -2.5 within an hour. LSU has been at some iteration of -3 since Thursday evening.

Spread betting has gotten closer as the week has gone on. It's now 58% of tickets/54% of money on LSU. And moneyline action is similar, at 56% of tickets and money on the Tigers.

DK's total is at 58.5, matching the opener, but it hit 59.5 early in the week and bottomed out at 56.5 Wednesday, on the Leavitt news. It's been stable at 58.5 since Thursday night. Tickets and money are running 2/1 on the Over.

THIRD UPDATE: As of 2:30 p.m. ET Thursday, LSU is 2.5-point chalk in Hard Rock Bet's college football Week 3 odds. But there's been some jumping around, in part due to Wednesday night's news that Tigers QB Sam Leavitt is doubtful.

But oddsmakers don't appear to be fully buying that designation. Multiple books, including Hard Rock, briefly dipped from LSU -3 to -1.5, but the line then bumped to LSU -2.5, where it's remained since.

The Tigers are getting 58% of spread tickets/66% of money so far at Hard Rock. Moneyline opinion is split, with 58% of tickets on home 'dog Ole Miss and 64% of oney on LSU.

Hard Rock's total is at 57.5, down from the 58.5 opener but up from the 56.5 low, with the number going from 56.5 to 57.5 Thursday morning. The Over is taking 61% of tickets/73% of money.

SECOND UPDATE: As of 1 p.m. ET Tuesday, LSU is a 3-point favorite in Borgata Sports' college football Week 3 odds. That's up a tick from Sunday's opener of Tigers -2.5.

"This is expected to be the most heavily bet game on the Saturday slate," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "The energy should be electric, as this will essentially be a grudge match, due to the history of Lane Kiffin.

"And it’s been LSU taking the early money here, moving this number to 3. The Tigers are getting bet both on the spread and moneyline."

Borgata's total is up to 59.5 from a 58.5 opener.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 7 LSU (2-0 SU/1-1 ATS) hits the road for the first time this season, after blowout home wins over Clemson and Louisiana Tech. In Week 2, the Tigers topped LaTech 45-14, but fell short of covering the 34.5-point spread.

No. 8 Ole Miss (2-0 SU/1-1 ATS) narrowly escaped Week 1 with a win over Louisville. Week 2 was a much easier task, with the Rebels coasting past Charlotte 41-9 as healthy 44.5-point home favorites.

Circa Sports opened the Tigers as 3-point road favorites, and that didn't attract any sharp action early, with LSU sticking at -3.

SMU vs. Louisville Odds

  • Opening point spread: Louisville -2
  • Opening moneyline: Louisville -125/SMU +105
  • Opening total: Over/Under 61 points scored
  • Time: 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday (ESPN2)

THIRD UPDATE: As of 2:55 p.m. ET Saturday, 35 minutes before kickoff, Louisville is -3 in BetMGM's Week 3 college football odds, having just moved off -2.5. And BetMGM is dealing reduced juice, so it's Louisville -3 (-105)/SMU +3 (-112).

The Cardinals opened -1.5 (-115) on Sunday, quickly advanced to -2 and got to -2.5 for the first time within a couple hours. But the line spent a good chunk of the week at various iterations of Cards -1.5, occasionally poking up to -2.

However, it was at Louisville -2.5 much of today and just hit -3, with the Cardinals getting the bulk of spread play and also popular on the moneyline.

"Pony up for BetMGM. We're gonna need SMU today. Outright is the preference," BetMGM trading manager Seamus Magee said.

The total is at 58.5, matching its low point after opening at 59.5 and peaking early at 60.5. But Magee said the book is rooting for an Under, per usual.

SECOND UPDATE: Hard Rock Bet hasn't moved off Louisville -1.5 all week in college football Week 3 odds. There hasn't even been a juice adjustment, as of 2:30 p.m. ET Thursday.

The Cardinals are taking 68% of early spread bets/72% of early spread money. On the moneyline, bet count is almost dead even, but 77% of cash is on the short home favorite Louisville.

Hard Rock's total is pinned to 59.5, save for a couple hours Sunday at 60.5. It's not at 59.5 (Under -115), thoug th Over has 76% of bets/74% of money.

SECOND UPDATE: Louisville opened and remains a 1.5-point favorite in Borgata Sports' Week 3 college football odds, as of 12:30 p.m. ET Tuesday.

"This should be a fun one," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "While there hasn’t been any early line movement, we’ve seen some early money on SMU moneyline at even money.

"It's a high total with SMU’s tempo on offense, which could cause some issues for the Louisville defense, on what should be a hot and muggy day."

Indeed, the total is 59.5, also unchanged from the opener.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 23 Louisville (1-1 SU/2-0 ATS) took Ole Miss to the wire in Week 1, then came back with an easy Week 2 win. The Cardinals drilled FCS foe Villanova 59-13 giving 38.5 points at home.

No. 16 SMU (2-0 SU and ATS) knocked off Florida State in Week 1, then mimicked Louisville with an FCS opponent in Week 2. The Mustangs belted UC Davis 56-10, easily cashing as 32.5-point home favorites.

On Sunday afternoon, Circa Sports opened Louisville as 2-point home chalk, with no early movement. But sharp play apparently hit the Under right away, as the total slid from 61 to 59.

Houston vs. Texas Tech Odds

  • Opening point spread: Texas Tech -10
  • Opening moneyline: Texas Tech -300/Houston +250
  • Opening total: Over/Under 53 points scored
  • Time: 8 p.m. ET Friday (FOX)

LATEST UPDATE: At 7 p.m. ET Friday, an hour before kickoff, Texas Tech is laying 7.5 points in BetMGM's Week 3 college football odds. That's notably down from Sunday's Red Raiders -9.5 opener.

In fact, practically all this movement came within a few hours Sunday, to Tech -9/-8.5/-8/-7.5. The number toggled between Tech -7.5/-8 a couple times this week, but it's been -7.5 all day Friday.

BetMGM is seeing two-way action on this key ACC matchup. The more apparent need is on the Under.The total is at 52.5, matching the opener, and it hit 53.5 a few times this week, most recently early Thursday.

THIRD UPDATE: Texas Tech rebounded from -7.5 to -8.5 Thursday morning in Hard Rock Bet's Week 3 college football odds. The Red Raiders remain -8.5 as of 2:30 p.m. ET Thursday, after opening -9.5 and sliding down to -7.5.

Houston is taking 75% of early spread tickets/76% of early spread dollars. The Cougars are similarly popular on the moneyline, to pull off the outright upset.

Hard Rock's total is at 52.5, matching the opener after a brief early stint at 53.5. The Over is drawing 78% of bets/85% of cash so far.

SECOND UPDATE: Texas Tech is already down to -7.5 in Borgata Sports' college football odds Week 3 market, as of 12:30 p.m. ET Tuesday. The Red Raiders opened -9.5, after not showing well but still winning at Oregon State.

And at least part of that downward line move is from sharp play.

"Certainly some of that action would be profiled as respected money," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "This is the first decent test for both of these teams. But Tech didn’t play its best against Oregon State, so I’m not surprised by the early line move toward Houston.

"We’ve seen some people buying in now on Texas Tech, at the lower number of 7.5. I would not be surprised to see this close at 7, though, with how Tech has looked to start the season."

Borgata's total is up to 53.5 from a 52.5 opener.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 13 Texas Tech (2-0 SU/0-2 ATS) got far more than it expected in Week 2 at Oregon State. The Red Raiders closed as 25.5-point favorites and trailed 24-21 in the fourth quarter. But Tech put up the final two scores, both touchdowns, in a 35-24 victory.

No. 22 Houston (2-0 SU/1-1 ATS) tuned up for its Big 12 opener with an overmatched FCS opponent in Southern University. The Cougars rumbled to a 77-6 victory laying a hefty 52 points at home.

This Big 12 battle is on the move early at Circa Sports. The Red Raiders opened -10 and quickly fell to -8.5 on Sunday afternoon, indicating early sharp play on underdog Houston.

Miami vs. Wake Forest Odds

  • Opening point spread: Miami -22.5
  • Opening moneyline: Miami -2100/Wake Forest +1150
  • Opening total: Over/Under 55.5 points scored
  • Time: 7:30 p.m. ET Friday (ESPN)

LATEST UPDATE: As of 7:15 p.m. ET Friday, 15 minutes before kickoff, Miami is -20 in BetMGM's college football Week 3 odds. The Hurricanes opened -21.5 Sunday morning and climbed to -23.5 within a few hours, but by Sunday evening backtracked to -21.5 again.

Since then, the line toggled between 'Canes -21/-20.5 multiple times, then briefly touched -20 early this evening. Miami is seeing 72% of spread money on straight bets.

BetMGM is just hoping Wake Forest can cover the big number, along with the Under coming in.

BetMGM's total is at 56.5, up from a 53.5 opener and having just moved off 55.5. The Over is netting 89% of money on straight bets.

THIRD UPDATE: Miami is down to a 20.5-point road favorite in Hard Rock Bet's college football odds Week 3 market, as of 2 p.m. ET Thursday. On Sunday, the Hurricanes opened -23.5, and the number dipped to -22.5/-21.5 early Monday.

On Wednesday, Miami slipped to -20.5. Still, the 'Canes are attracting 81% of early spread tickets/86% of early spread money.

Hard Rock's total is up to 56.5, reaching that point early Thursday after opening at 54.5. The Over is netting 78% of tickets/85% of money.

SECOND UPDATE: Borgata Sports has Miami as 21-point road chalk in college football Week 3 odds, as of 12:30 p.m. ET Tuesday. That's down a half-point from the opener of Hurricanes -21.5, and more so down from the consensus -22.5 opener.

"Miami hasn’t had a challenge in the first couple of weeks, and I’m not sure Wake will put up much of a fight either," Borgata sportsbook director Tom Gable said. "But Wake is coming off a double-OT win against Purdue, and quarterback [Gio Lopez] is playing the best of his career.

"We currently have a little more money on Miami and the Under."

That said, Borgata's total is up to 56 from a 54.5 opener.

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 5 Miami (2-0 SU and ATS) won its first two games by a combined 122-13. In Week 2 against FCS foe Florida A&M, the Hurricanes plowed to a 77-7 win and cover as massive 59.5-point home favorites.

Wake Forest (2-0 SU/0-2 ATS) blew a 23-13 fourth-quarter lead at Purdue, getting forced to overtime in a 23-23 tie. But the Demon Deacons escaped with a 38-36 double-OT road win while failing to cover as 2.5-point favorites.

Circa Sports often gets hit with respected action on its college football openers. But that wasn't the case in this matchup. On Sunday afternoon, Circa opened Miami -22.5, with no early movement.
