The History

Run down the hill going 6 ½ furlongs in its first two runnings before going to this distance in 2011. Mizdirection became the first female to win the event in 2012 and first to repeat in 2013, when there was a dead heat for second between Tightend Touchdown and Reneesgotzip.

How to Handicap the Turf Sprint

1-Glass Slippers is looking for her first win in four starts since upsetting this race at just over 10-1 last season.

2-Emaraaty Ana has won two of his last three, all at this trip, including a G1 in England on our Labor Day weekend when last seen.

3-Golden Pal is undefeated in his four U.S. turf tries and comes in off a gate-to-wire tally in the G2 Woodford at Keeneland. Last year, he won the B.C. Juvenile Turf Sprint.

4-Lietenant Dan is a perfect two-for-two at Del Mar going this distance and comes in on a three race win streak having won the G2 Eddie D at Santa Anita last out.

5-Arrest Me Red has won both of his starts, including the G3 Belmont Turf Sprint Championship, since moving to the Wesley Ward barn.

6-A Case of You won the G1 sprint on the Arc undercard at Longchamp in France last out at this distance.

7-Charmaine’s Mia set the pace when cutting back and taking on the boys before fading to beat just one home in the Eddie D.

8-Caravel has lost her last two against the boys after rattling off three consecutive victories against fillies and mares

9-Kimari returns to turf for first time in over a year having won her last two on dirt, including the G1 Madison at Keeneland, when last seen in April.

10 Gear Jockey sat just off the pace before capturing the G3 Turf Sprint at Kentucky Downs last out.

11-Fast Boat has won half of his six starts this season, including a career-best effort in the G3 Troy at Saratoga two back.

12-Extravagant Kid finished second to Golden Pal in the Woodford, one of four runner-up finishes from him this year. Lone 2021 win came on the Dubai World Cup undercard.
