PITTSBURGH STEELERS vs. MIAMI DOLPHINS PREDICTION

Miami entered Week 4 as the last undefeated team in the AFC, as the Dolphins opened with three straight wins over the Patriots, Ravens, and Bills, while racking up 27.7 PPG on 355 YPG in those victories. However, Tua Tagovailoa’s health issues quickly derailed the operation, as the Dolphins averaged just 16 PPG and turned the ball over seven times across an 0-3 skid in Weeks 4 through 6 in his absence.

The Steelers, on the other hand, are also having their fair share of struggles on the offensive side of the ball, as Mike Tomlin’s squad averaged just 16.2 PPG on 292 YPG and turned the ball over nine times across a 2-4 skid to open the season, with their highest scoring output thus far coming in a Week 1 overtime win over the Bengals (W, 23-20 OT).

I’ll back Miami to cover here, as Pittsburgh posted a gutsy home win over Tampa Bay last week, however, the Steelers averaged just 14.3 PPG across their first three road matchups of the year, and that type of offensive production typically isn’t enough to compete with this new-look Dolphins squad when Tua’s under center.

Score Prediction: Dolphins 26, Steelers 16
Best Bet: Dolphins -7 (-110)

PITTSBURGH STEELERS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Steelers were the heaviest moneyline-underdog to pull off an upset in the opening week of the season, as Mike Tomlin’s squad cashed +240 ML tickets with a stunning 23-20 OT road victory over the Bengals back in Week 1.

However, it’s been tough sledding on the defensive side without the presence of T.J. Watt, highlighted by the Steelers surrendering 25.2 PPG in their five contests since Watt’s injury. But to be fair, their offense hasn’t done them any favors either, as the Steelers enter Week 7 having scored 20 PTS or less in five straight contests (14.8 PPG).

MIAMI DOLPHINS BETTING ANALYSIS

The Dolphins finished third in the AFC East with a record of 9-8 last season, falling just half-a-game short of Pittsburgh for the final Wild Card spot in the conference (9-7-1). However, Miami wasn’t considered a serious playoff contender for most of the year, as the Dolphins opened with a miserable 1-7 skid, which was followed by an impressive 8-1 run to close the season.

Miami had lofty expectations heading into the season, as the Dolphins chalked up last year’s campaign to going 8-5 with QB Tua Tagovailoa under center, and 1-4 without him, plus they added Tyreek Hill this past offseason. And they delivered in the first three weeks of the season, as the Dolphins racked up 27.7 PPG on 355 YPG in consecutive victories over the Patriots, Ravens, and Bills. Their offense struggled miserably without Tua in Weeks 4 through 6, however, now that he’s healthy, I think we’ll see them pick up right where they left off.
