ST. LOUIS BLUES vs. VANCOUVER CANUCKS PREDICTIONS

The Blues snapped a two-game losing skid with a tremendous win against the Canucks in the front end of the home-and-home with the Canucks on Monday, winning 4-1. It was a shocking win considering the Blues were coming off a 7-2 rout at the hands of the Carolina Hurricanes, and Vancouver had won four consecutive meetings in St. Louis.

The Canucks are looking to right the ship after the 4-1 loss. Vancouver ended up 2-2 in the four-game road trip, which is a bit inconsistent. One thing that is consistent is that the UNDER has cashed in five straight meetings, with the Blues averaging just 2.0 goals per game across the past seven outings, while allowing a total of 21 goals across the past nine outings, or an average of 2.33 goals per game.

ST. LOUIS BLUES BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 36-20-9
  • ATS: 36-29
  • O/U: 31-30-4

The Blues picked up a 4-1 victory over the Canucks in the front-end of the home-and-home, snapping a two-game skid, and a 1-5 slide across the past six games. The offense hasn't really had trouble scoring, posting 35 goals across the past nine games, just short of four markers per outing. However, the defense and goaltending has struggled a bit, coughing up 3.7 goals per game across the past 10 contests.

St. Louis has won just two of the past seven games overall, while going 1-5 in the past six against teams with a losing record. That's the bad news. The good news is that the Blues have managed a 6-1 record in the past seven against Pacific Division teams while going 12-3 in the past 15 against Western Conference clubs.

On totals, the OVER is 4-1 in the past five games overall, while going 8-1-1 in the past 10 games as an underdog while going 6-0-1 in the past seven as a road 'dog. The UNDER is 15-6-3 in the past 24 games against Western Conference teams, while going 6-1-1 in the past eight against Pacific Division clubs.

VANCOUVER CANUCKS BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 32-27-9
  • ATS: 39-29
  • O/U: 31-35-2

The Canucks have alternated losses and wins across the past five outings, struggling to light the lamp. Vancouver has managed 14 goals across the past seven games, or an average of just 2.0 goals per outing. The Canucks have allowed 18 goals across the past seven games, too, as Thatcher Demko and Jaroslav Halak have done a decent job while the defense has stepped up, too.

Vancouver has won two of the past seven games overall, while going 1-5 in the past six games at home while going 2-5 in the past seven against teams wit ha winning overall record. However, they are 10-4 in the past 14 games as a favorite.

As far as totals are concerned, the UNDER has cashed in five consecutive outings, while going 4-0 in the past four against teams with a winning overall record. The UNDER is 4-0 in the past four against the Central Division while going 4-0 in the past four against a Western Conference team, too. The OVER is 7-3 in the past 10 at home, too, while going 10-2 in the past 12 as a favorite, so it's been a little up and down lately.

The Blues bounced the Canucks 4-1 in St. Louis in the most recent meeting Monday. (AP)

ST. LOUIS BLUES vs. VANCOUVER CANUCKS BETTING CONCLUSION

The Blues dominated the Canucks and exorcised a lot of demons along the way. Vancouver had handled St. Louis in recent seasons, at least prior to COVID, especially in St. Louis. The Blues have struggled offensively lately, but had no issues sneaking the puck past Halak, a former Blue, by the way. Now, the Blues will try their hand at solving Demko, while also playing in the Pacific Northwest. I expect the Canucks to return the favor.

The St. Louis offense looked good with four goals last time out against Vancouver, but that was an anomaly in the month of March. Vancouver has also struggled with the offense, too. Expect defense and goaltending to reign supreme, and goals to be at a premium. The UNDER is the best play on the board, and the lean is to the Canucks at home for a little revenge.
