Betting on the St. Louis Blues
When you think of NHL hockey, the St. Louis Blues would have to be considered one of the league’s most iconic franchises. This also carries over to the realm of legal sports betting in the US. Diehard Blues’ fans have made this team a strong draw for legal sportsbook operators.
St. Louis Blues Overview
The initial season of hockey in the NHL dates back to 1917. While the St. Louis Blues were not one of the original six franchises, team history does go back to league expansion in 1967.
Amazingly enough, the Blues not only qualified for the NHL playoffs in their first three seasons, they went to the Stanley Cup Finals in each of those years. Famed NHL coach Scotty Bowman was at the helm for two of those impressive runs.
Blues’ fans had to wait quite a few more years for championship glory. Leading up to St. Louis finally winning the Stanley Cup in 2019, the Blues have remained perennial contenders throughout the years.
St. Louis beat the Boston Bruins in a thrilling seven-game Stanley Cup Finals series in 2019 to end the 52-year drought.
The honor roll of famous NHL players in St. Louis franchise history is highlighted by Brett Hull. You could also add Brian Sutter, Gary Unger and Bernie Federko to the list on one ranking by diehard Blues’ fans.
Over the years, the Blues have formed natural geographic rivalries with other Midwest teams such as the Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Red Wings. In more recent years, the Nashville Predators have become a heated rival playing in the Western Conference’s Central Division.
Betting on St. Louis games draws the most action on the NHL money line. Betting the Blues as favorites is the ultimate risk-reward wager. If they happen to be listed as -145 home favorites, you would have to risk losing $145 on a $100 bet they go on to win that game.
Betting on sports online in Missouri remains illegal.

Betting on the St. Louis Blues in Missouri
Most of the professional sports teams based in Missouri have voiced their support for legal sports betting in the state. Along with MLB’s St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Royals, the Blues have publicly supported the passage of the necessary legislation to make this change.
State lawmakers continue to work through the legalization process during the 2022 legislative session. Hopes remain high that this is the year something gets done.
In the meantime, Blues’ fans can get on the games in any US state offering legal sportsbooks. However, they must be physically located within those states’ borders.
