Betting on the Colorado Avalanche
Coming off of a division title in 2021, the Avalanche have bettors hustling to the betting window to get in on the action via one of the NHL’s most consistent teams over the last couple seasons.
Colorado Avalanche Franchise History
Immediately after moving from Quebec to Colorado in 1995, the Avalanche had remarkable success. In the team’s first full season in Colorado, it swept the Florida Panthers to win the Stanley Cup Finals.
After a string of ultimately unsuccessful playoff runs in the following half-decade, the Avalanche returned to the NHL’s mountaintop in 2001, winning their second Stanley Cup in six seasons behind goalie Patrick Roy.
Although the city and team have been longing for another championship, it hasn’t been bad. The Avalanche have consistently competed for and even won the division title as recently as 2021.
With the Avalanche on the rise again, fans and bettors both have plenty to be excited about.
Betting on the Avalanche in Colorado
Sports betting has been alive and well since 2020 in Colorado. Bettors have a copious amount of retail and online options, making the state one of the nation’s leaders.
Online operators include familiar faces like DraftKings and FanDuel, and Colorado’s retail operation provides customers a wide range of options throughout the state.
The state’s industry-friendly regulations have led many sportsbook operators to dip their toe in the water in Colorado. That, and the state’s user-friendly rules have made for quite a robust betting market.
Bettors in Colorado can expect to see something similar to the following when looking to place a wager on their hometown Avalanche:
· Avalanche -1.5
· Wild +1.5
Here, the Avalanche are 1.5-goal favorites over the Minnesota Wild. A bettor laying the 1.5 goals with Colorado needs them to win by at least two goals.
If the Avalanche win by one goal, or lose outright, the bettor loses their wager.
Colorado Avalanche Sportsbook Partnerships
In the summer of 2020, Denver-based PointsBet became the official betting partner of the Colorado Avalanche, among other Colorado professional sports teams.
The deal brings PointsBet an array of benefits consistent with most team-sportsbooks partnerships. Perhaps most notably, PointsBet receives a plethora of visibility on TV and radio coverage, with betting odds routinely displayed or spoken to.
There is also a component of physical signage in the Avs’ arena, and Colorado customers are often subject to special promotions within the PointsBet app.
