MINNESOTA WILD vs. NASHVILLE PREDATORS PREDICTIONS

The Wild rattled off victories in each of the first two games of this road trips, a 3-1 victory Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes, and a 5-1 win Sunday against the Washington Capitals. That's also an impressive 9-0-1 record across the past 10 games dating back to March 13, which just so happens to be a 6-2 loss in St. Paul against these very same Predators.

Since that mid-March win in Minnesota, the Predators haven't been as hot as their counterparts. The Preds have won six of the past 10, and they're coming off a shocking 4-3 loss at Buffalo (no Foolin'!) on April 1 as the OVER connected. The good news for the Predators is that they're 2-0 in two meetings with the Wild, outscoring Minnesota by an 11-4 count.

MINNESOTA WILD BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 43-20-5
  • ATS: 33-35
  • O/U: 37-28-3

The Wild have been absolutely red-hot lately, and the acquisition of Marc-Andre Fleury from the Chicago Blackhawks at the NHL trade deadline has paid huge dividends so far. The offense has been great for Minnesota overall, scoring 3.6 goals per game to rank fourth in the NHL. But the defense and goaltending needed shoring up, and they've done just that. Minnesota has allowed one goal in three of the past four games, and they're allowing just 1.6 goals per game during the current 9-0-1 run.

Minnesota has won four straight against the Western Conference, while going 5-1 in the past five against winning teams, including road victories over the Caps and Canes on this current road trip.

For totals, the UNDER is 8-1-1 during the current 10-game hot streak, while going 5-1-1 in the past seven as a favorite. The UNDER is 4-0 in the past four against Western Conference teams, too.

NASHVILLE PREDATORS BETTING ANALYSIS

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 39-25-4
  • ATS: 38-30
  • O/U: 41-27

While Minnesota heads to the Music City absolutely red-hot, it's due for a loss. And Nashville is usually a house of horrors for the Wild, as Minnesota has dropped seven straight in the Tennessee capital city, while the Predators have won nine of the past 10 meetings overall in this series. The home team is 12-4 in the past 16 meetings, and the favorite is 8-2 in the past 10 in the series, too.

Nashville has protected its home ice successfully in 20 of the previous 28 games at home, while going 12-5 in the past 17 inside the Central Division.

On totals, it's been all about the OVER for the Predators, going 35-17 in the past 52 overall. However, the UNDER is 7-3 in the past 10 games at home, while the OVER is 5-1 in the past six as an underdog, 9-2 in the past 11 against Central Division teams and 20-7 in the previous 27 against Western Conference clubs.

MINNESOTA WILD vs. NASHVILLE PREDATORS BETTING CONCLUSION

Betting against the Wild has been foolish, but if anyone is going to end their hot streak it is the Predators. Not only has Nashville won nine of the previous 10 meetings overall, but Minnesota has skating away taking an L in seven straight trips to the Music City.

The last team to beat the Wild in regulation was the Predators back on March 13 in the Twin Cities, and you have to keep fading Minnesota when facing Nashville until it turns things around in this series.
