CALGARY FLAMES vs. NASHVILLE PREDATORS PREDICTIONS

The Flames are coming off a 5-2 road victory Monday against the Chicago Blackhawks. Calgary currently sits atop the Pacific Division with 103 points, and if the playoffs were to end today, they would face the Dallas Stars.

The Flames could potentially face the Predators in the first round if things break a certain way, with Calgary holding home-ice advantage. Nashville needs to win more games, however, as it has really stumbled down the stretch. The Vegas Golden Knights and Dallas Stars are also fighting for seeding with the Predators, and one of those teams are going to be left on the outside looking in.

Nashville currently sits in the final playoff spot if they regular season ended today. The Predators would face the Avalanche, a team currently with 116 points and on the way to the President's Trophy. In the past six games, Nashville has managed just 11 total goals.

The Predators have won just three of the past 11 games as an underdog, although they're 37-18 in the past 55 games at home. For totals, the OVER is 19-7 in the past 26 against the Western Conference, while the UNDER is 5-2 in the past seven games overall.

CALGARY FLAMES vs. NASHVILLE PREDATORS

The Flames and Predators square off in an attractive matchup in the Music City. Calgary breezed to the victory in Chicago against a team going nowhere, but had to hop a plane and travel to Nashville to meet a much hungrier team with a lot on the line. Expect much stiffer resistance in this one.

While the trends in this series point squarely to Calgary, I think the rested Nashville side will get the best of the Flames, who have the quick turnaround. While Calgary has responded well in back-to-back situations, facing a desperate team trying to keep their playoff aspirations alive and well will be too much to handle, although it will be a close game.
