The Jimmy Garoppolo experience is finally over in San Francisco as they move on and hand the ball to Trey Lance. While the announcement of Trey as the starting quarterback may have shocked some of the fans, we cannot say we were shocked. Drafted third overall, the expectation was that he would eventually be the guy in San Francisco. Kyle Shanahan and company have decided that the right time to make the move was now.

The 49ers have won both of their first two preseason games against the Packers and Vikings. Trey Lance didn’t touch the field in the last outing for the 49ers, but we expect him to see some time. The 49ers roster as a whole is much deeper than that of the Texans, but due to Garoppolo likely being shopped around the quarterback depth will be a weakness in the preseason finale. The Niners will likely use Trey Lance, Brock Purdy and Nate Sudfeld.

The Texans will also begin life after Deshaun Watson. The franchise quarterback found himself in hot water and was traded to the Browns. He was given the richest quarterback contract in history, but that subsequently left the Texans with Davis Mills, Kye Allen and Jeff Driskel. Ultimately this quarterback room will also be a weakness for the Texans, but not just in the preseason finale. They are looking at a long season.

The Texans have also won both of their preseason games. They beat the Saints by a score of 17-13 and the defending champion Rams 24-20. Jeff Driskel primarily played in the first game and went 16-26 for 165 yards and two touchdowns. He did have three glaring interceptions. The second preseason contest saw Davis Mills get the bulk of the work and went 10-17 with 96 yards and a touchdown.

The Caesars Sportsbook will have all the week three preseason action as they gear up for the regular season. The Caesars Sportsbook has the 49ers listed at 3.5, with both sides priced at -110. A $100 wager on either team spread would net a profit of $90.91. The volatility of the preseason could lend to a few advantages being found, including on the money line. The Texans find themselves as +150 on the money line, and after Trey Lance leaves the game the matchup evens up. A $100 wager on the Texans would net a return of $150.

The total is set to 41.5 with the over and under both priced at -110. The four combined preseason games these teams have played saw two reach the 41 thresholds while two went way under barely cracking 24.

The Caesars Sportsbook will have all the sides, totals, props, first half lines, second half line and live bets available throughout the season. While the prop market is typically dormant in the preseason, this is a great time to take advantage of the great welcome promotion offered by the Caesars Sportsbook while getting you ready for the regular season.
