The Baltimore Orioles have a winning record, and it’s almost August. This is a team that lost 110 games last season. Their schedule coming out of the All-Star break started with division teams ahead of them in the standings, and they’ve gone 3-2.

There’s a chance that O’s fans will see this team get their 53^rd win early in August. That would be more wins than last year’s entire season. They’re currently on a 14-4 run, with much of the success coming from their run production. In the last 11 games, they’ve scored four or more in ten, and there are quite a few five and six-run outputs in those results.  

Tyler Wells goes for the home team, and he’s sporting a 7-6 record with a 3.69 ERA and a WHIP of 1.10. After a stretch that started at the end of May, where he won six of eight starts with two no decisions, his last two outings have been rough. He’s thrown 173 pitches in just 10.2 innings. Although 10 Ks were included in those throws, they also induced 11 hits, four bases on balls, and two dingers that led to eight earned runs.
