The Los Angeles Dodgers are again in title contention, sitting with just 36 losses nearly 75% into the 2022 season. They lead the San Diego Padres by 18 full games for the National League West crown, and although there is a long way to go, we do not see a path to any team but the Dodgers to walk away with the division. The Marlins went to Los Angeles this past weekend and were consequently swept with ease, as the Dodgers outscored them 19-4 in four games.

Now Milwaukee sets their sights on beating the Dodgers to close the gap in the National League Central and wildcard playoff race. The Brewers fumbled the bag this weekend as they dropped two of the three against a rebuilding Chicago Cubs team. The Brewers did just play a four-game series against the Dodgers at American Family Field in Milwaukee and split it 2-2.

Julio Urias will get the nod for the Dodgers. Heading into this matchup, Urias has a 13-6 record spanning 17.2 innings in 23 starts. He has given up 99 hits, 15 of which were home runs, 26 base on balls, and 34 earned runs out of a total of 41. He has been in really nice form as of late, though, allowing just four earned runs in his last six starts. He has been able to eat up 38 innings in those starts. In his last start, he went five scoreless innings before being pulled with 94 pitches against these same Milwaukee Brewers.

The Brewers will counter with Eric Lauer, who owns a 3.58-season ERA but has also played his best baseball lately. He has four straight starts allowing three earned runs or fewer, including his last time out going seven strong innings allowing just two earned against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The second best ATS team this season behind the Orioles has been the Dodgers, so a -1.5 bet might be worth a look. The Dodgers at -1.5 come in at a much lower -126. The Brewers are +105 on the money line and completely worth a look considering they just split a series against the Dodgers a few days ago. A $100 wager on the Brewers would net a return of $105.

The total is currently set to 7.5 with the over at -118 and the under at -104. The Dodgers and Brewers have trended in different directions when it comes to the total lately. The Dodgers have seen the total go under in five of their last seven games. The Brewers are 3-0-1 in their last four to the over. The over is also 7-2 in the last nine meeting between the two franchises.
