2026 College Football Odds for Week 5

Alabama vs. Mississippi State Odds

  • Opening point spread: Alabama -6.5
  • Opening moneyline: Alabama TBA/Mississippi State TBA
  • Opening total: Over/Under 58.5 points scored
  • Time: Noon ET Saturday (ABC)

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Preseason, most people probably wouldn't have foreseen No. 16 Mississippi State being in a Week 5 marquee matchup. But the Bulldogs are 4-0 SU and ATS, while coming off a thrilling victory.

Mississipi State trailed Missouri 24-17 well into the fourth quarter. But the Bulldogs then put up two touchdowns to claim a 31-24 victory laying 3.5 points at home.

No. 7 Alabama (4-0 SU/3-1 ATS) had it much easier vs. South Carolina in Week 4. The Crimson Tide rolled to a 49-18 victory as 12.5-point home favorites.

Circa Sports' opening numbers are widely respected and often draw immediate sharp action/movement. For Alabama-Mississippi State, the Crimson Tide opened -6.5, with no moves in the first 30 minutes.

Circa's total did move right out of the gate, jumping from 58.5 to 60.

Notre Dame vs. North Carolina Odds

  • Time: Noon ET Saturday (ESPN)

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 3 Notre Dame (4-0 SU/3-1 ATS) continues to roll through relatively easy schedule. In Week 4, the Fighting Irish closed as 27.5-point home favorites vs. Purdue and coasted to a 49-10 victory.

North Carolina (2-1 SU/1-2 ATS) might not give Notre Dame a fight, either. But with Bill Belichick involved, there's at least some appeal. And the Tar Heels got an extra week to prepare, after losing to Clemson 28-20 as 3-point road underdogs in Week 3.

In that contest, UNC led 20-15 with 6:34 remaining, but gave up two late touchdowns.

Circa opened Notre Dame a hefty 21-point road chalk Sunday afternoon, with no movement in the first 30 minutes. The total opened at 48, went to 49, then back to 48, all within the first five minutes.

Ohio State vs. Iowa Odds

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 14 Iowa (4-0 SU/3-1 ATS) got a semi-surprising walk-off victory at Michigan in Week 4. Trailing 19-14, the Hawkeyes got a 16-yard touchdown catch from Reece Vander Zee as time expired to win 20-19 catching 4.5 points.

No. 5 Ohio State (3-1 SU and ATS) lost a heartbreaker at Texas in Week 2, then came back with two easy wins vs. overmatched opponents. In Week 4, the Buckeyes pounded Illinois 42-19, but fell short of cashing as 25.5-point home favorites.

As noted above, Circa Sports tends to get hit with early sharp action on its numbers. That was definitely the case Sunday afternoon, when Ohio State opened -14.5 vs. Iowa in Week 5 college football odds.

The Buckeyes quickly nudged to -14, then went straight to -13 within 10 minutes. Circa's total made an early adjustment, as well, from 44 to 45.5 within 10 minutes.

Florida vs. Missouri Odds

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: Florida (4-0 SU/3-1 ATS) is an early-season surprise, coming off a 4-8 SU/5-7 ATS campaign. In Week 4, the Gators were 3.5-point home favorites vs. then-No. 4 Ole Miss and smoked the Rebels 52-28.

Florida put up 35 points in the second half, including 28 afer Ole Miss pulled within three at 24-21 with 5:21 left in the third quarter. In two weeks' time, the Gators have gone from unranked to No. 21 and now all the way to No. 8.

No. 25 Missouri (3-1 SU/1-3 ATS) was dealt its first loss of the season in Week 4. The Tigers led Mississippi State 24-17 well into the fourth quarter, but gave up two touchdowns from there and lost 31-17 getting 3.5 points on the road.

Circa Sports opened Florida as a 3.5-point road favorite, with no movement in the first 30 minutes Sunday afternoon. The total did a short dance from 56 to 57, then back to 56 within a few minutes of opening.

Miami vs. Clemson Odds

  • Opening total: Over/Under 50.5 points scored
  • Time: 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday (ABC)

OPENING ODDS UPDATE: No. 4 Miami (4-0 SU/3-1 ATS) had ostensibly a bye vs. Central Michigan in Week 4. The Hurricanes rumbled to a 52-3 victory giving 41.5 points at home.

Clemson (3-1 SU/2-2 ATS) got belted at LSU 52-10 in Week 1. Since then, the Tigers have won three in a row, including a 28-10 Week 4 victory as 2.5-point road favorites vs. California.

Still, the Tigers are big home 'dogs in college football Week 5 odds. Circa opened Miami -16, and within the first three minutes Sunday afternoon, the 'Canes first went straight to -17.5, then backed up to -17 before settling at -16.5.

Circa's total was also on the move quickly, dropping straight from 50.5 to 49 a few minutes after opening.
