The old saying is "a playoff series hasn't started until the road team wins a game."

We're still waiting for this series to start apparently as the Jazz captured the first two contests in Salt Lake City before the Clippers rebounded with a pair of victories in L.A. to even things up at 2-2.

Clippers vs. Jazz Current Form

The Jazz seemed to be in control through the first two games after knocking off Los Angeles by three and six points. Utah trailed by 13 points at halftime in the series opener before rallying for a 112-109 win, while building a 13-point halftime edge in Game 2 before holding off the Clippers, 117-111.

Things turned L.A.'s way back at Staples Center as the Clippers torched the Jazz in Game 3 as five-point favorites, 132-106 behind 34 points from Kawhi Leonard and 31 points from Paul George.

George drilled six three-pointers, while fellow guard Reggie Jackson hit 5-of-6 three-point attempts to score 17 points, the same amount as fellow veteran Nicolas Batum.

Donovan Mitchell scored 30 points in Game 3, but the Jazz shot only 43% from the floor to suffer their first road loss of the playoffs.

L.A. didn't let up in Game 4 as the Clips jumped out to a 30-13 lead after one quarter and cruised to a 118-104 triumph as five-point favorites to even the series at 2-2.

As of Wednesday morning, the Clippers received tough news as Leonard will sit out Game 5 with a knee injury suffered late in Game 4, moving the line nearly four points.

Los Angeles Clippers Betting Outlook

Inside the Stats (2020-2021)

  • Overall: 53-30 SU, 45-37-1 ATS, 40-41-2 OU
  • Road: 24-17 SU, 21-19-1 ATS, 20-21 OU

The Clippers won all three road games in their first round series against the Mavericks, but L.A. has dropped both away contests in this series at Utah.

L.A. has yet to win three straight games in the postseason, as the Clips went 'under' the total off consecutive victories, while scoring 100 and 109 points in those defeats.

Utah Jazz Betting Outlook

Inside the Stats (2020-2021)

  • Overall: 58-23 SU, 47-34 ATS, 40-40-1 OU
  • Home: 35-6 SU, 27-14 ATS, 20-21 OU

Utah is not immune to blowing playoff series leads as the Jazz were up 3-1 on the Nuggets in the bubble last season before losing the final three games.

The Jazz have two of the next three at home, where they have won four consecutive games since Mitchell missed the first round opener against the Grizzlies.

Utah owns a perfect 5-0 record this season off consecutive defeats, while posting a 5-1 mark at home off a road setback this season.

Key Injuries

  • C Serge Ibaka: Back - Out

Utah Jazz

  • PG Mike Conley: Hamstring - Questionable

Clippers vs. Jazz Prediction

It's not a surprise the Clippers captured both games at Staples Center, but the Jazz should get a boost returning home tonight. Utah dominated L.A. in the second half of Game 1 before jumping out to the big lead in Game 2. Now with Leonard sidelined it's hard to see the Clippers coming through here as Utah will grab a 3-2 series lead.

Score Prediction: Jazz 116, Clippers 106
