After finishing fourth in the East with a record of 41-31 SU last year, New York briefly kept that same ball rolling with an excellent start to this season, as the Knicks opened with an impressive 7-4 SU and 6-5 ATS run– which included tough victories over the Sixers (2), Bucks, Celtics, Bulls.

The Knicks have looked like a shell of that squad since their opening stretch though, considering New York dwells at 13-17 SU and ATS across the last 30 games – despite getting tagged as favorites in 17 of those contests.

On the other hand, Dallas also posted a strong start to this season, as the Mavericks kicked things off with a solid 9-4 SU run – although, those wins didn’t come particularly easy, considering Dallas went just 5-8 ATS across that timeframe.

Injuries, along with a strengthened schedule, quickly caught up with Dallas towards the end of December though, considering the Mavericks wrapped up 2021 with a discouraging 8-14 SU skid – before ultimately kicking off the New Year with a 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS run.

I’ll lay the points with Dallas here, as despite the Knicks sitting at 4-0 SU and ATS across their last four home games, my vote of confidence still belongs to a Mavericks squad riding impressive six-game win streak that includes double-digit victories over the Bulls, Warriors, and Nuggets.
