Jaden Ivey (DET) Over 4.5 Assists

At this point, Detroit is primarily focused on the future of the franchise, as the Pistons currently find themselves stationed dead-last in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 14-41, and things continue to get worse for them, having lost 11 of their last 14 games.

However, with the future in mind, the young core of this Detroit squad has stepped up and taken on a much larger role as of late, and none more so than Jaden Ivey, considering he’s posted solid averages of 16 PTS, 6.1 AST, and 3.5 REB across the Pistons’ last 12 contests, despite yielding a record of 3-9 during that stretch.

His recent passing numbers really stand out, though. Ivey enters Wednesday having assisted on 5+ made baskets of his last 15 outings for Detroit, with eight of those performances ringing in at 6+ assists.

So, I’ll back Ivey to keep it going in tonight’s matchup against a Cavs squad that’s scored 122+ points in three of their last five contests (117 PPG).

Spurs-Raptors Over 232.5 (-110)

The Spurs rank 7th in pace and 30th in points allowed. So, this San Antonio team is certainly no stranger to partaking in high-scoring games, they enter Wednesday having surrendered 127+ points in 10 of their last 13 contests, which to no surprise, has resulted in a miserable 1-12 skid heading into tonight.

While on the other hand, Toronto isn’t particularly known for a run-and-gun style of play, currently ranked 26th in the league in pace. However, the Raptors certainly won’t shy away from a good ole’ fashioned shootout, considering they’ve now scored 117+ points in 10 of their last 15 contests, while crossing the 120-point mark eight times during that span.

The Raptors’ offense will likely have a field day in tonight’s matchup against a San Antonio squad that’s surrendered an embarrassing average of 127 PPG since New Year’s Eve. So, assuming that trend continues to some extent, it shouldn’t take much of a push for the Spurs to send this one ‘over’ the number.

Sacramento Kings -9 (-110) @ HOU

Houston is arguably the worst team in basketball, currently stationed at the bottom of the Western Conference standings with a record of 13-41. However, unlike Detroit and San Antonio, the Rockets still battle hard in every matchup, and actually seem like they want to win games, entering tonight’s contest following a modest 3-5 stretch.

Make no mistake, though, this Rockets team isn’t getting any better, they’re still 3-18 in their last 21 games, and they rank dead-last in net rating across that stretch (-12.2 NetRtg).

But all that said, my reason for taking Sacramento is this one still lies with the merits of this young Kings squad. The Kings are 10-5 in their last 15 games, with seven of those wins coming by margins of 10+ points, and that already includes a pair of 20-point victories over Houston. The Kings still stand a level below the the top shelf squads in the league, but push comes to shove, they usually handle business with relative ease when facing inferior opponents.

In Monday’s matchup between these teams, the Kings went to halftime with a 17-point lead, and never looked back on the way to a 140-120 victory over the Rockets. So, I’ll lay the points with Sacramento in this one.

Take Sacramento!
