Cleveland Cavaliers -1 (-110) @ ATL

The Hawks continue to be respected as a legitimate threat to win most matchups, especially on their home floor, and tonight is no different, as they play host to Cleveland as short one-point underdogs on Tuesday night, despite trailing the Cavs by 10.5 games in the win column at the moment.

On the surface, the distance between the 4th and 8th spot in the East may seem rather small, however, rest assured, Cleveland and Atlanta are not squads of the same caliber.

Atlanta is a flashy underdog option on a game-to-game basis, spearheaded by a fan-favorite in Trae Young, the Hawks rank 4th in scoring and 7th in offensive rating (118 PPG, 116.4 ORtg), but they consistently underperform due to lackluster defensive play, also ranked 25th in points allowed and 23rd in defensive rating (117.8 PPG, 116.2 DRtg).

While on the other hand, Cleveland is arguably the most well-balanced teams in the entire league, currently ranked Top 10 in the league in both offensive and defensive rating (116.2 ORtg, 110.3 DRtg), the Cavs own the second-best net rating in NBA (+5.9 NetRtg), only behind Boston (+6.5 NetRtg), and they enter Tuesday following wins in nine of their last 11 games.

So, I’ll back Cleveland to handle business on the road against a Hawks’ squad that’s posted a record of 5-7 in their last 12 games, with four of those wins coming against relatively weak opponents in the Pistons, Pacers, and Wizards (2).

Hornets-Thunder Under 230 (-110)

Both of these teams are notorious for their run-and-gun style of play, with the Thunder currently ranked 4th in the league in pace at 101.1, and similarly, the Hornets ranked 7th at 100.9, but for a variety of reasons, we’ve seen both squads take their foot off the gas at the offensive end as of late.

The Thunder have a crowded injury report at the moment, highlighted by Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, Lindy Waters, and Kenrich Williams all carrying injury designations ahead of this one, and their subpar health status has shown in their recent results, having scored just 111.7 PPG across their latest 3-3 stretch.

While on the other hand, the Hornets enter Tuesday following wins in back-to-back wins over Dallas, but don’t be fooled by their recent success, this is a bad basketball team, especially on offense, ranked 27th in scoring and dead-last in offensive rating, Charlotte has now scored 110 points or less in five of their last seven games.

So, I’ll take the ‘under’ in tonight’s matchup against a Thunder’ squad that’s fallen short of the 115-point scoring mark in seven of their last ten contests.

Franz Wagner (ORL) Over 3.5 Assists

At this point, Orlando’s season in pretty much over, currently stationed four games out of the final Play-In Tournament spot in the East with just seven games left to play, however, that certainly hasn’t hindered the production of Franz Wagner, as he enters Tuesday having scored 19+ points in seven of his last 11 outings, with four of those performances ringing in at 21+ points.

In this instance, though, the best value proposition on the board appears to be his assists line stationed at OU 3.5. Wagner enters Tuesday having tallied 6+ assists in four straight games, and he’s recorded 4+ assists in nine of his last 11.

So, I’ll back Wagner to have another solid night in the passing department in tonight’s matchup against a Grizzlies’ squad that ranks 6th in the league in pace (101 PACE).
