Washington Football Team vs. Las Vegas Raiders Predictions

The Washington Football Team pushed past the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night in Week 12, registering a third consecutive victory. WFT held on a couple of hairy situations. The Seahawks blocked an extra point and returned it late in the first half, tying it up 9-9. Clinging to a 17-9 lead, Washington had a touchdown overturned by instant replay, and the Seahawks got the ball back. QB Russell Wilson drove the team down the field, hitting WR Freddie Swain with a 32-yard scoring strike with 15 seconds left to close it to 17-15. They misfired on the two-point conversion, however. Seattle looked like it had a successful onside kick, but an illegal procedure call wiped it out, and then WFT recovered the second attempt, hanging on for a third straight win to get right back into the mix of the NFC playoff picture.

Washington used a balanced attack with 152 rushing yards and 219 passing yards to get the win over Seattle. Facing an AFC West Division team might not be what the doctor ordered to keep the win streak alive, however. WFT is 0-3 SU/ATS in three previous meetings against AFC teams this season, including a 17-10 loss at Denver in Week 8 prior to this win streak. The UNDER is 3-0 in those three games, too.

The Raiders last played on Thanksgiving, rolling up a 36-33 win in overtime on the road against the Dallas Cowboys. The Silver and Black racked up 143 rushing yards and 366 passing yards, and they were 5-for-5 in the kicking game. One thing Vegas can clean up would be the 2-for-5 red-zone efficiency numbers (40%), while posting 14 penalties for 110 yards. That win snapped an 0-3 SU/ATS skid.

Washington Football Team Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 5-6
  • ATS: 4-7
  • O/U: 5-6
  • ATS - Home: 2-4
  • ATS - Away: 2-3

Washington hasn't had a very good time covering the number, going 3-7 ATS across the past 10 games overall, while going 2-5 ATS in the previous seven games as an underdog. And, as mentioned above, the WFT is 0-3 SU/ATS in three games against AFC West teams, with the UNDER going 3-0 in those games, to it will have its work cut out.

As far as the total, it's all UNDER all the time. The UNDER is 5-1 across the past six games overall for Washington, while going 5-1 in the past six as an underdog, too. In addition, the UNDER is 11-2 across the past 13 games against teams with a winning overall mark, too.

Las Vegas Raiders Betting Analysis

Straight Up - SU, Against the Spread - ATS, Over-Under (O/U)

  • SU: 6-5
  • ATS: 5-6
  • O/U: 6-5
  • ATS - Home: 2-4
  • ATS - Away: 3-2

The Raiders have had a strange season, from the Jon Gruden situation, the Henry Ruggs III drunk driving incident and the Damon Arnette social media debacle. It's been distraction after distraction, yet the team has managed to wend through the issues and arrives at Week 13 with a record one game over .500, right in the thick of the AFC West race.

Las Vegas hasn't fared terribly well on its home field, going 1-4 ATS in the past five home outings. The one cover was a 33-22 win as one-point underdogs against the Philadelphia Eagles, an NFC East team. The Raiders are 2-1 SU/ATS in two games against teams from that division, with the only loss, oddly enough, on the road against the New York Giants. The OVER is 2-1 in those three games, too.

The OVER has connected in eight of the past 10 games at home, while the OVER is 18-8-1 in the past 27 games overall, while going 4-1 in the past five against teams with a losing overall record.

The Las Vegas Raiders have posted a 1-5 ATS record in the past six games as a home favorite. (AP)

Washington Football Team vs. Las Vegas Raiders Betting Conclusion

All good things must come to an end, and the three-game win streak for Washington is about to come to a halt in the desert. Many people have hopped a plane for Vegas with big dreams, but headed home with a loss, and Washington will be no different.

The Raiders have managed to steer through some very turbulent waters, and they seem to have excelled when things are at their worst. They now find themselves at 6-5, just one game back of the Kansas City Chiefs for the lead in the AFC West Division. Washington ranks 30th in the NFL with 266.6 passing yards allowed, and that's good news for the Raiders on their home field. They'll outduel the red-hot WFT for the win, keeping pace with the rest of the division.
