What’s Going On?
It’s an NL East showdown, as the third-place Philadelphia Phillies are in Atlanta to face the team they’re chasing in the standings. If the playoffs started today, these two would be in. Today is the perfect time to open an account with bet365 and take advantage of their special.
This game is important to more than these two and should be a great spot to find an opportunity to use that new bet365 account. It’s late in the season, and with most teams it’s “what you see is what you get”. You know exactly what they’ll do, even if it’s being inconsistent. Why Should You Care?
These two are second and third in the standings, but it’s not that close. The Braves are -260 here, -110 on the run line, and lead the Phillies by 10 games in both the division and Wild Card standings. Philadelphia is +215 today, also +110 getting the 1 ½, and in a battle with the Padres and Brewers for the last two NL Wild Card spots. The number for combined runs is 7 ½ with odds of -120 for over and even money for under that figure.
That whole bet $1 and get $200 in free bets deal from bet365 would be another reason to get involved in this Sunday afternoon affair. Having multiple books allows you options for most wagers since not all sportsbooks are created equal. It could be the lines are better, they offer more props, the live-action site works great, or plenty of other reasons. That's why opening a new bet365 account makes sense.
Can The Phillies Hang On To One Of Those Two NL Wild Card Spots?
Philadelphia was on a 7-1 run and had positioned themselves right in a solid Wild Card spot only to lose the last three including the first two in this series with Atlanta. They currently sit half of a game in front of the Padres with the Brewers 1 ½ behind them. Unless someone below them goes on the greatest tear in the history of baseball, within a couple of weeks, every other National League team will have been officially eliminated.
Bailey Falter will be on the hill for the visitors. He’s 5-3 with an ERA of 3.80 and a 1.15 WHIP. This season he’s started 16 games, has eight no decisions, hasn’t had a loss since July 24, and his team is 8-1 in his last nine starts. The last three starts away from Citizens Bank Park have seen him throw 18.1 innings allowing 14 hits with two walks and four earned runs. In his last start against Miami, he threw 88 pitches, and that was his season high.
Are The Braves Winning The East Or Settling For A Wildcard Spot?
Atlanta is a full game behind the New York Mets for the NL East lead, but the New Yorkers have played two more games and won them both. The Braves just came back from an eight-game road trip where they went 4-4 and have won the first two in this series.
Spencer Strider gets the call for the Braves with his 10-5 record, an ERA of 2.72, and a 1.01 WHIP. In his last five games, he’s thrown between 102-106 pitches in all of them and was 3-1 with a ND. He faced Philadelphia on the road and at home in back-to-back starts at the beginning of August. He went 12.2 innings, gave up six hits and two walks and two earned runs, as the Braves won by a combined 19-4. In his last three home games, he’s gone 19 innings, given up eight hits, walked three, and gave up two earned runs.

Falter hasn’t faltered. In his last three starts, he’s allowed no free passes and has pitched lights out. Strider beat the Phillies twice a month back, and they only scored four times in the two losses. Have some of that under for the first five innings as well, then throw something on the dog for both sections too. The way the visiting pitcher is throwing is worthy of a tiny play that’ll go a long way.
