The Warriors trailed by as many as 19 points and overcame a 14-point halftime deficit to defeat the Mavericks 126-117 in Game 2 to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. The Warriors are now two wins from returning to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2019. Superstar Stephen Curry guided the Warriors with 32 points (six 3-pointers) and eight rebounds. Kevon Looney scored a career-high 21 points along with 12 rebounds for a double-double. Jordan Poole splashed in 23 points and registered five assists and two steals off the bench for the Warriors.

Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic bounced back after a rough Game 2 with a dominant 42 points. Doncic shot 12-for-23 overall, 5-for-10 from the 3-point line and 13-for-15 on free throws, while adding eight assists and five rebounds. The 23-year-old prodigy has 813 postseason points and joins legends Michael Jordan (917) and Wilt Chamberlain (867) as the only players in NBA history with at least 800 points in their first 25 playoff games, according to Bleacher Report.

Postseason revelation Jalen Brunson also responded with a much better effort in Game 2, totaling 31 points, seven rebounds, and five assists for the Mavericks. Mavericks small forward Reggie Bullock tallied 21 points.

The Warriors drained 14 of their 28 attempts (50 percent) from beyond the 3-point line while also crushing the Mavericks by 32 in points in the paint (62-30).

The Mavericks are favored by 2.5 points vs. the Warriors in Game 3. This is a shift after the Warriors were favored by 6.5 points vs. the Mavericks in Game 2. The Mavericks are 5-0 against the spread in their last five home contests and 11-5 against the spread in their last 16 matchups vs. the Warriors. Meanwhile, the Warriors are 4-2 against the spread in their last six games.

After the combined 243 points in Game 2, the over/under is set for 218.5 points in Game 3. This is an increase from the 213-point over/under from Game 2. The total has gone UNDER in five of the last seven games for the Mavericks. However, the total has gone OVER in eight of the last nine contests with the Mavericks and Warriors in Dallas. With both teams settling into an offensive groove anchored by their superstars, the OVER seems solid in Game 3 after being accomplished in Game 2.

This is the first playoff matchup between the teams since the eighth-seeded “We Believe” Warriors stunned the first-seeded Mavericks in the first round of the 2007 NBA Playoffs.

The Warriors are 4-9 SU in their last 13 games vs. the Mavericks and 2-3 SU and 1-4 against the spread on the road in the playoffs. The Mavericks are 5-1 SU and against the spread respectively at home this postseason. The Warriors will cover the spread but with the Mavericks in a crucial contest for their Finals hopes, they’ll respond with a victory to narrow the series deficit to 2-1.
