The Blue Jays are simply the product of playing the right teams at the right time. The last few teams to play in Toronto have provided ample evidence that the vaccination status of the team will matter as the season progresses. The Baltimore Orioles traveled earlier in the season to Toronto minus Anthony Santander, and he has now been vaccinated.

Any serious playoff contender, especially in the American League, who will be buyers this trade deadline will have to take into consideration a player’s status. The Cardinals would not have to worry about that until a World Series berth, but teams like the Rays, White Sox, Guardians, Orioles, and Mariners could find themselves in trouble.

Tuesday night was just another example of a team simply missing too much. They traveled North minus their leading run producer, home run hitter, and batting average leader. All led by Goldschmidt. In Wednesday night's matchup, Goldschmidt will again be joined in absence by Arenado and Molina, who has landed on the 10-day IL.
