The Sweet 16 of NCAA Tourney resumes this Friday -- and the second matchup of the day we'll be breaking down is Gonzaga vs Purdue, which is scheduled for 7:39 p.m. ET on TBS.

The Boilermakers are 5.5-point favorites on the spread in Friday's contest; with the game total set at over/under 154.5 at most sportsbooks.

Gonzaga vs Purdue Picks & Prediction

Gonzaga and Purdue are meeting for the second time this season as the Boilermakers captured the first matchup in Hawaii, 73-63 in late November.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 35-30 halftime lead before the Boilermakers rallied to outscore the 'Zags, 43-28 in the second half to grab the cover as five-point favorites.

Purdue is back in that same favorite range on Friday after routing Utah State in the second round, 106-67 as 11.5-point favorites. The Boilermakers shot 56% from the field, led by center Zach Edey's 23 points and 14 rebounds.

Gonzaga trailed Kansas by one point at halftime in the round of 32 before the Bulldogs blew away the Jayhawks in the second half, 46-24 for an 89-68 victory as 4.5-point favorites.

This marks the 9th straight tournament that Gonzaga has made the Sweet 16 as the Bulldogs defeated UCLA last season in this round before eventually losing to UConn.

The Bulldogs are one of the best teams in the country in 2-point shooting (58.3%) and rank 10th in defending the 2-point shot, which will be key in slowing down Edey (who shot 8-of-16 on 2-pointers in the first matchup).

Gonzaga has proven to still have something left in the tank in spite of flying under the radar this season. They hung in the first matchup with Purdue and can definitely do so in the second meeting on Friday.
