Arizona finished with the worst record in the Pac-12 conference last season, going 1-11 SU. In head coach Jedd Fisch’s defense, it was his first season and started a complete rebuild of the program. The defense was not great, and the offense was terrible, but with transfers and a talented recruiting class coming in the Wildcats could be a bit more competitive this season.  

The Wildcats never quite settled on a quarterback last season. That is about to change as Jayden de Laura (2,798 YDS, 23 TD, 9 INT) is coming in via the transfer portal from Washington State. Wide receiver Jacob Cowing (79 Rec, 1,354 YDS, 7TD) comes in from UTEP to give Laura a quality target. The Wildcats should be good to go at the running back position with Michael Wiley (91 REC, 302 YDS, 2 TD) returning. The defense finished fifth in the Pac-12 last season and will return eight starters.  

Arizona's win total is set at just 2.5, but the Wildcats may not be in good position to cover. Their easiest games come at home against North Dakota State and Colorado but even those are not guarantees. Against Washington State is also winnable but all other games come against very good programs. I expect two wins this season for Arizona and another couple of years before this ship gets turned around. Best bet on the board for the Wildcats is backing the under 2.5-win total (+120).

Give Fisch a bit more time to build things up before considering this bet. Bringing in Laura and Cowing is huge but there are too many other things that need fixed. The o-line will be the key to any success this team has, and the defense needs to be better after finishing last in the NCAA in red-zone protection. Improvements will be made this season for the Wildcats but stay away from this bet as they will not be winning the Conference Championship this season.

Some nice juice here but absolutely no value. The Wildcats have a lot of work to do before backing them to win the National Title. If you are looking for a realistic Pac-12 team to back here, think about USC (+200), Oregon (+4000), or Utah (+5000), but Arizona is not a good play.
