2020 Notre Dame Betting Odds and Forecast
2020 Notre Dame Fighting Irish Schedule
Notre Dame normally has nearly half of its schedule against ACC foes, but due to many opponents dropping off its schedule this season, the Fighting Irish will be part of the ACC for the 2020 season. The Irish will be tested at home against Florida State and Clemson, but the road slate is extremely manageable with the toughest contest coming in Chapel Hill against North Carolina on November 21.

Notre Dame Odds to Make 2020-21 College Football Playoff
Yes (+450) or No (-670)
The thing that can work for or against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in terms of their CFB Playoff possibilities is their Independent status as not being affiliated with a conference. On the one hand, not having a conference championship to play for is always going to be a negative for them being included in the final four on Selection Sunday, as they'll be competing for those spots with programs that presumably won their respective conference. That means that running the table or potentially only having one loss is an absolute must for the Fighting Irish in that regard.
On the plus side of things, no conference affiliation means they can construct their schedule as they see fit and take on numerous potential conference champions all in the same season. If for example, Wisconsin, Clemson, and USC all win their respective conference crowns in 2020 (Big 10, ACC, and Pac-12), and Notre Dame beats them all but slips up with a loss somewhere else, the argument becomes really tricky as to where the Irish ultimately stand.
That makes any sort of future wager on Notre Dame being playoff bound a tricky one to sink one's teeth into, as there is much less of a buffer for them in terms of suffering a loss with no conference championship to potentially play for.
Notre Dame Odds to Win 2020-21 College Football Playoff
If bettors are high on Notre Dame's prospects in 2020 and believe the “Golden Domers” can run the table or grab a playoff spot with just a single loss, then bypassing the +450 odds on them just to make it and taking them to win it all at this +2000 price may be worth the risk. If this 2020 Irish team does get into the CFB Playoff, they will undoubtedly be battle-hardened from the schedule they've got, and that's never a bad thing come playoff time.
Yet, the problem remains about the likelihood of them even getting in with say one loss if they are compared to another one-loss conference champion, and that scenario does make waiting on this prop bet an option to consider as well. Even an undefeated Notre Dame team isn't likely to be the overall favorite in the playoff, so while the price on the Irish winning it all may not be as high as it is currently, at least you'll know they are one of four teams with a shot.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Postseason Forecast
Having fifth year QB Ian Book (+2000 odds to win the Heisman) returning for 2020 is a big reason why expectations are high in South Bend once again for this Irish program, and a quality Bowl game is likely the end result. Whether or not that's a CFB Playoff game, or New Year's Day game, or something at the end of December remains to be seen, but even if everything breaks the way of the Irish this year, barring an undefeated campaign, it's likely a New Year's Six Bowl game for the Irish, just outside of the playoffs.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Season Prediction
The intrigue and high profile of Notre Dame has always made them a favorite option for sports betting in Indiana and nationwide. Even with Book returning, and the other talent Notre Dame has spread out across the football field in 2020, there are just too many potential landmines in their schedule to confidently believe they'll have another season with double digit wins.
Aside from those tough games already mentioned vs Wisconsin, Stanford, Clemson, Louisville and USC, there are also potentially tough road games against the likes of Wake Forest and Pittsburgh. That Pittsburgh program has always been a tough out for Irish teams when they square off, and that's likely still to be the case for this 2020 Irish team even if everything else breaks right for them.
But if things go south for Notre Dame in those bigger games (Clemson, USC, Wisconsin), 2020 could end up being much uglier in South Bend then any Notre Dame fan wishes to even contemplate. With a high end scenario of something like a 10-2 SU record, and everything else being worse or much worse then that, going 'under' the 10 wins at -143 and taking any of the “No's” in terms of Notre Dame making the playoffs is the way to bet Irish futures currently.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish 2019 Recap
2019 wasn't the best season in recent memory for Notre Dame, but it continued a strong run of play for the program as it was the third straight year the Irish finished with double digit wins. Brian Kelly's squad went 10-2 straight up (SU) in the 2019 regular season and capped things off with a convincing 33-9 win over Iowa State in their Bowl game.
It wasn't as good as their undefeated regular season mark in 2018 before getting bounced in the CFP Playoff semi-final game, but for the first time in Brian Kelly's tenure as the head man in South Bend, three straight seasons of double digit victories suggest he's finally found that winning formula for the Irish to have them in the national conversation every year.
