2022 San Jose State Spartans Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 SAN JOSE STATE SPARTANS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

San Jose State were champions of the Mountain West conference in 2020 but fell off a bit last season with a 5-7 SU record. Head Coach Brent Brennan will return for his sixth season and look to take the Spartans to their second bowl game in three seasons. The last time San Jose State managed to do that was in the 1986 and 1987 seasons. Brennan is in good position to do so as this team returns a number of veterans and talent.

The Spartans offense turned the ball over too much last season and will bring in Hawaii QB Chevan Cordeiro (2,793 YDS, 17 TD, 11 INT) to run the offense. Cordeiro also adds another rushing threat as he has rushed for over 1,100 yards in his time at Hawaii. He will have plenty of options to throw to as the top four receivers will be back in addition to 6-4 215-pound Elijah Cooks (13 REC, 157 YDS, 4 TD) from Nevada. The offensive line also picked up some talent from the transfer portal and should do a nice job opening lanes for RB Kairee Robinson (64 ATT, 280 YDS, 1 TD). The defense was mediocre last season but are expected to be better with nine starters returning including leading tackler Kyle Harmon (LB).

San Jose State will be right on the cusp of covering their win total of 6.5 this season. Week one at Portland State should be a win. Road games against Auburn, San Diego State, Utah State, and Fresno State will be tough to win. Home games against Western Michigan, UNLV, Nevada, Colorado State and Hawaii will all need to be wins for this team to cover. There is just too little room for error, and I expect the Spartans to win six games this season. Best bet on the board for San Jose State is backing under 6.5 wins (+125)

Best Bet: Under 6.5 wins (+125)

SAN JOSE STATE SPARTANS ODDS TO WIN MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP

+2500

The Spartans should see improvements from last season, but I would not expect a Mountain West Championship. I think at best San Jose State will finish in the third spot in the West division of the conference with San Diego State and Fresno State in the top two spots. If you think the Spartans can pull off some upsets throughout the season then this is the bet for you, but I do not expect them to see that kind of success this season.

SAN JOSE STATE SPARTANS ODDS TO WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

+100000

Not a smart play here. Even just one loss would take away any small hope of this happening and week two at Auburn is almost a guaranteed loss. Buy something nice for yourself or find another bet to back as this one is not happening.
