Tennessee Football Betting Odds & Forecast
2020 Tennessee Volunteers Schedule
Divisional games against the like of Florida and at Georgia can likely be penciled in as losses for the Vols at this stage, while hosting Alabama in that rivalry game in late October is likely in the same category.
The Tennessee Volunteers closed last season with six straight wins and 2020 expectations are high in Knoxville this season. (AP)
Tennessee Odds to win SEC East in 2020
At this price, a division title is likely not in the cards for the Vols this year, as they may be tied with Kentucky in price for that future crown, but both programs are well behind the favorites Georgia (-110) and Florida (+125).
That suggests that without a win over either Georgia or Florida, a “yes” wager on this prop is comparable to throwing money out the window, but those that do believe in Pruitt and the Vols this season could decide to wait until that late-September home game vs Florida before they take action. A Tennessee win there could change a lot, and while the futures price won't be the same as +1200, it should still be a sizable number.
Tennessee Odds to win SEC Championship
It would take quite a bit for Tennessee to win the SEC East, but there is a reasonable path for that to happen. Winning the SEC Conference though is nothing but a pipe dream for them as whomever comes out of the SEC West to face Tennessee in that hypothetical title game would easily be laying double digits. No need for a second thought here.
Tennessee Odds to Make 2020-21 College Football Playoff
There isn't much of a need to spend much time on this one either, as Tennessee is still years away from being considered a national contender, and a playoff berth just can't realistically be on anyone's radar involved with the team or as a Volunteers fan.
Tennessee Odds to Win 2020-21 College Football Playoff
If the Volunteers have no shot at making the playoffs, then this potential future bet is just as easy to answer. Nothing to see here as we move on.
Tennessee Odds for Players to win the 2020 Heisman Trophy
The Vols currently have three players listed in the Heisman Trophy Odds betting market and they're all quarterbacks with very long odds.

Tennessee Volunteers – Postseason Forecast
A postseason football game may not necessarily be in the cards for Tennessee in 2020 if things take a turn for the worse at some point. With a handful of defeats already pencilled in, getting to the required six wins may be tougher then Tennessee believers care to admit. They do have opportunity in front of them with those games and can write their own script if they want, but from a talent level perspective, much of 2020's script for Tennessee is probably going to be dictated to them.
Getting to a Bowl game would likely be considered a success for the Vols, as they've only gone to a Bowl game eight times in the last 15 years. An early Bowl season game that floats around Christmas Day is where they will end up if they get to that point though.
Tennessee Volunteers Season Prediction
Tennessee is one of those programs that an unbiased bettor really has a tough time believing in. Drawing Oklahoma in the non-conference schedule is a game that can ultimately be good for the growth of the program in regards to facing upper echelon competition, but in the results-based business of betting, it's just going to be another loss. Games against Georgia, Florida, and Alabama will have the identical result, and trips to South Carolina, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt, could turn sour if the season's already got some sour vibes to it.
Of all the potential futures for Tennessee's football team this year, to me it looks as though seven wins is where the Volunteers top out if most things go right for them. That means that taking that +110 price on 'under' 7 wins with them finishing 6-6 SU is the only thing worth hitting confirm on now.
Tennessee Volunteers 2019 Betting Recap
2019 was a step in the right direction for a Tennessee football program that's been perpetually searching for answers on how to get back involved in the national scene for over a decade now. The Volunteers haven't had a 10-win campaign since 2007, and that's got to be the goal first before things like “national contention” start returning to their lexicon.
But an 8-5 straight up (SU) record with a win in the Gator Bowl in 2019 was a step up in Year Two of HC Jeremy Pruitt's reign, and the Vols are hoping the improvements keep coming in 2020. It's never easy out in the SEC, even if they do reside in the “easier” division of the two in the conference, but this once proud program is still searching for ways to get back on the national stage, and fans and boosters alike of this Tennessee program are hoping to build off that 2019 season.
