2020 Texas A&M Aggies Betting Predictions

Texas A&M Football Betting Odds & Forecast

2020 Texas A&M Win Total Odds

Texas A&M 2020 wins: Over 9.5 (+110) or Under 9.5 (-137)

Not having a date with Clemson in the non-conference schedule is always going to help a program's season win total projection, especially as non-conference games for the Aggies this year feature Abilene Christian, North Texas, Colorado, and Fresno State – all at home for Texas A&M. Projections have the Aggies taking down all of those contests, but it's the rest of the SEC slate where things will get much tougher.

2020 Texas A&M Aggies Schedule

  • Week 1 - Sept. 5 vs. Abilene Christian
  • Week 2 - Sept. 12 vs. North Texas
  • Week 3 - Sept. 19 vs. Colorado
  • Week 4 - Sept. 26 vs. Arkansas (Arlington, Texas)
  • Week 5 - Oct. 3 at Mississippi State
  • Week 6 - Oct. 10 vs. Fresno State
  • Week 7 - Oct. 17 at Auburn
  • Week 8 - Oct. 24 at South Carolina
  • Week 10 - Nov. 7 vs. Ole Miss
  • Week 11 - Nov. 14 vs. Vanderbilt
  • Week 12 - Nov. 21 at Alabama
  • Week 13 - Nov. 28 vs. LSU

However, there is no Georgia or Florida to deal with in the crossover conference games, and do get LSU at home as well. Texas A&M does finish the year with Alabama/LSU in consecutive weeks, and will have some tough road games at Mississippi State and Auburn to contend with that does take a bit of air out of their balloon. That suggests that this win total line shaded to the low side is probably right where it should be for Texas A&M in 2020.

A soft non-conference schedule should help head coach Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M be more prepared for a tough 2020 SEC slate. (AP)

2020 Texas A&M Game of the Year Odds

The Aggies are listed in four Game of the Year Odds matchups and three of them take place outside of College Station, Texas. The school is listed as large favorites over Arkansas, but are an underdog vs. Auburn and Alabama. A home date with LSU should be interesting since its the final week of the season and the two teams have played to shootouts in the past.
  • Week 4 - Texas A&M (-19.5) at Arkansas
  • Week 7 - Texas A&M (+3.5) at Auburn
  • Week 12 - Texas A&M (+14.5) at Alabama
  • Week 13 - LSU at Texas A&M (PK)

Texas A&M Odds to win SEC West in 2020

Yes (+400)

This price still has the Aggies looking up at heavy favorite Alabama, but they are tied for the runner-up position with LSU in that respect, and that could make for an interesting race. It's still going to likely take a road win at Alabama for the Aggies to have any shot at this ticket cashing, and while that's definitely a possibility, being a possibility and being a likely possibility are two very different things in this situation.

Texas A&M Odds to win SEC Championship

Yes (+1000)

If bettors are high on the Aggies and the likes of QB Kellen Mond (50/1 odds to win the Heisman) leading this team through the rough waters of the SEC in 2020, going full bore and backing them to win the entire conference at 10/1 odds may be the way to go. Presumably the Aggies would have a road win over Alabama, and wins over at least two of Auburn, LSU, and Mississippi State at that point to just get to this title game.

At that stage, squaring off with Florida or Georgia or whomever comes out of the East division will just be another hurdle this Aggies team will be plenty confident in leaping. Not saying that's what happens, but Aggies believers are probably better off shooting for the moon from a betting perspective here.

Texas A&M Odds to Make 2020-21 College Football Playoff

Yes (+750) or No (-1250)

Another SEC team that's got worse odds to make the playoff then they do for winning the conference, and the likelihood of that catch-weight scenario happening – Aggies don't win SEC but sneak into playoffs as #4 seed - just don't warrant much of a consideration on the 'yes' side of this prop.

Could it happen? Of course, but those discussions are usually reserved for the “blue bloods” of college football like the Alabama's and Ohio State's of the world. If Texas A&M is going to be one of the last four teams left standing, they'll do so on the back of a conference championship, meaning the +1000 on them to accomplish that feat makes much more sense.

Texas A&M Odds to Win 2020-21 College Football Playoff

Yes (+3000)

Again, this outcome is probably one where you'd prefer the Aggies having more of a clear cut path at being involved in the playoff sometime later in the year. Maybe if they are heading into that Alabama game in late-November still undefeated or with one loss and ranked in the Top 10 the Aggies will be worth a look at a lower, but similar price.

But +3000 odds are just not enough to back this program as your next national champion without having a better understanding of what they'll bring to the field in 2020. An early season loss or two completely takes them out of this running and has you ripping up a ticket before Halloween.

Texas A&M Odds for Players to win the 2020 Heisman Trophy

As mentioned above, the Aggies signal caller Kellen Mond is the only player listed in the Heisman Trophy Odds betting market for the 2020 college football season.

(Position, Player, Odds)

  • QB Kellen Mond 50/1

Texas A&M Aggies – Postseason Forecast

Too many conference road games not to figure that the Aggies won't have a slip up or two against opponents they should likely beat on paper. A postseason Bowl game will be in their future, but another Texas Bowl or something similar in late-December is likely where Jimbo Fisher's program finds themselves once again.

Texas A&M Aggies Season Prediction

All those SEC road games have to have you concerned as an Aggies fan, especially when road trips to Auburn and Alabama are scheduled as part of those. Slip up at Auburn in mid-October and who knows how tough the Aggies next three very winnable games get (@ South Carolina, vs Ole Miss, vs Vanderbilt) before the big finish vs Alabama and LSU.

Going 'under' the 9.5 wins on their season win total is really the only future wager worth strongly considering here, as the rest of them rely on the Aggies navigating all the land minds that are put out in front of them, and that feels like far too big of a stretch.

Texas A&M Aggies 2019 Betting Recap

2019 brought a 8-5 straight up (SU) season for the Aggies thanks to a win in the Texas Bowl, but the season was far from as slightly above average as that appears to look.

Dec 27 Oklahoma State Cowboys   -4.5 56 Won 24 - 21   Loss / Under

Of the Aggies five losses on the year, not one came to a team that was ranked worse then 8th at the time, and they fell to the #1 team – Clemson, and then Alabama – twice. Losses to #4 Georgia and #2 LSU late in the year sealed their fate for a Texas Bowl appearance, as they just weren't competitive enough against those elite opponents to suggest otherwise. But that's part of the next step for this team in 2020, continue to stride forward and possibly win one of those tough games or two.
