2022 USC TROJANS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

There sure is a lot of hype for this program with Lincoln Riley taking over as head coach. After finishing last season 4-8 SU, the Trojans are favorites to win the Pac-12 Championship this season. With several big-name transfers following Riley it is hard to disagree. Of course, this could all just be hype, but USC is looking to be the real deal this season.

The Trojans had the number one offense in the Pac-12 last season, averaging close to 300 passing yards per game to alongside 145 rushing yards. Star quarterback Caleb Williams (1,912 YDS, 21 TD, 4 INT) follows Riley over from Oklahoma and is a huge get for the program. Wide receivers Mario Williams (35 REC, 380 YDS, 4 TD) from Oklahoma and Jordan Addison (100 REC, 1,593 YDS, 17 TD) from Pitt should provide Williams with some quality targets. The Trojans also get a big pickup at the running back position in Travis Dye (211 ATT, 1,271 YDS, 16 TD) from Oregon. Alex Grinch from Oklahoma will take over as the defensive coordinator and should have the boys ready to go.

USC needs to win 10 games this season to cover their win total of 9.5 and their schedule plays in their favor big time. If this team is all its hyped up to be, at Utah, at UCLA, and at Notre Dame will be their biggest challenges of the season. If they can win just win one of those games, they should cover. They avoid Oregon, Utah, and get Arizona State and Washington State at home. Backing over the win total of 9.5 is a solid play but taking the Trojans to win the Pac-12 Championship (+200) is the best bet on the board for USC.

USC TROJANS ODDS TO WIN PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIP

+200

The Trojans are favored to win the Pac-12 Championship this season and I must agree with that. Partly because of how talented they are, but also because their schedule sets them up to be one of the top two teams in the conference. Not only do they avoid two of the best teams in this conference, two of their three out of conference schedule games come against Rice and Fresno State. USC only have themselves to beat this season.

USC TROJANS ODDS TO WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

+2800

Not too long ago it took time to rebuild a program, but with the transfer portal creating a free-for-all it allows teams to see success much faster. USC has potential to be a prime example of that this season. As mentioned earlier with no hiccups and big wins over Utah and Notre Dame this team could very well be undefeated at the end of the season. Oh, how the media would love that too. A smaller wager here is not a bad idea but I do not expect the Trojans to have a perfect season.

USC TROJANS 2022 HEISMAN CONTENDERS & ODDS

Caleb Williams (QB) +600

Travis Dye (RB) +8000

Jordan Addison (WR) +10000

Williams finished the second half of last season as one of the best in the country. He is a dual threat quarterback and his scheduled provides him with plenty of opportunities to pad the stat sheet. In terms of guys not heavily favored, Caleb Williams is my top choice. Dye comes in as a versatile back from Oregon. Running backs need to have phenomenal stats to win the Heisman and I am not sure USC’s offense is focused enough on the run to provide him with opportunities.

He should have a great season and be a big asset to the team, but this is a long shot. Alabama’s DeVonta Smith was the first wide receiver to win the Heisman since 1991. In terms of the stats sheet, Addison is not far off from Smith’s 2020 season where he put up 117 REC, 1,856 YDS, and 23 TD. He has potential to match those numbers this season, so who knows what could happen. A small wager here is not a bad idea as Addison is a great wide receiver.
