2021 USC Trojans Betting Odds, Predictions, Preview
USC looks to defend its South Division crown in 2021, but they're expected to be running neck and neck with Arizona State most of the season.
The hopes of the Trojans are pinned on Heisman hopeful QB Kedon Slovis, but he isn't the only star in the mix in Southern California. RB Keaontay Ingram transfers over from Texas, and WRs K.D. Nixon and Tahj Washington also transfer in, as does TE Malcolm Epps. WR Drake London figures to step up and have a starring role, and true freshman WR Michael Jackson III is also in line for a big role. It's an embarrassment of riches at the skill positions in Los Angeles, but the offensive line play has to be much better, trying to keep their star signal caller upright. That's a huge question mark, as Slovis was dropped 15 times in just six games.
As far as the defensive side of the ball, the Trojans are littered with plenty of NFL prospects. DE Drake Jackson will be playing his football on Sundays in the not-so-distant future, and DE Korey Foreman is a blue-chip prospect joining the mix. Keep an eye on DT Tuli Tuipulotu, who could be a star in the making. S Xavion Alford and CB Chris Thompson transfer in to bolster a secondary which was just middling in 2020.
The USC schedule is rather challenging. It starts with a home date with San Jose State, who is no longer a pushover, and then the conference schedule opens with Stanford at home on Sept. 11, and a trip to Washington State on Sept. 18. That's not exactly easy. A trip to Colorado on Oct. 2 could also be a challenge.
The Trojans also have a marquee road game against traditional rival Notre Dame, and it's conceivable that could have some playoff implications. But the key game, for division title hopes and Pac-12 Championship Game representation, is a trip to Arizona State on Nov. 6. That's going to be a doozy. They also wrap up the season with tough games against UCLA and BYU at home. If they're able to roll through this schedule as perhaps a one-loss team, a playoff spot would be warranted, but there are plenty of pitfalls along the way, and nine or 10 games would still be quite the accomplishment.

USC Odds to win 2021 Pac-12 Championship
I am buying USC for the South Division title, and I think they could easily be the best team in the league. Their win total is criminally low, and one of my favorite OVER bets. I think they're a very good bet to hoist the conference championship trophy, too, and you can get a return times four? Nice.
USC Odds to Win 2021-22 College Football Playoff
It's very possible USC could make an appearance in the CFP, but they'll need to avoid pitfalls in road games to Washington State and Colorado early, and they likely need to top Notre Dame on Oct. 23. Still, the odds are a little long not only to make the CFP, but to win it all? I just don't see the Trojans as a national title contender, although they might be one of the top two or three teams west of the Mississippi River.
