2022 UTSA Roadrunners Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

2022 UTSA ROADRUNNERS BETTING ODDS, PREDICTIONS, PREVIEW

The Roadrunners of UTSA had a magical season in 2021, going 12-2 in a season which resulted in a bowl loss to San Diego State in the Frisco Bowl. The good news is that QB Frank Harris is back under center, but the bad news is that all-everything RB Sincere McCormick is now in the NFL. Despite the loss of McCormick, the Roadrunners are listed as co-favorites in the CUSA with UAB in 2022.

McCormick went for 1,479 rushing yards last season with 15 touchdowns. RB Brendan Brady (49-232-3) returns for his senior season looking to fill some big shoes, while new players Tye Edwards and De'Anthony Lewis look to grab a piece of the offensive pie.

Harris completed 66.6% of his pass attempts in the regular season for 2,906 yards, 25 touchdowns and 5 interceptions while running for 565 yards and six scores. He has his top three wideouts returning, too, as WRs Zakhari Franklin (73-938-11), Joshua Cephus (69-793-6) and De'Corian Clark (46-683-6) are back, so UTSA could do a lot more of the aerials than 2022. The Roadrunners registered an outstanding 36.9 PPG to rank 11th in the country.

The defense took a hit, as UTSA returns just five players. The strength of the D will be at linebacker, as LBs Trevor Harmanson and Jamal Ligon return to lead the way.

Looking ahead at the schedule, UTSA gets a shot at the big boys with games against Houston and Texas. Those are each tall orders, but at least the Roadrunners get the Cougars at the Alamodome. A trip to Army will not be a walk in the park, either. If UTSA makes it through the non-conference schedule at 3-1 or better, look out. Even so, the Roadrunners should be a 9- or 10-win team.

UTSA ROADRUNNERS ODDS TO WIN C-USA CHAMPIONSHIP

+300

UTSA is listed among the top favorites in Conference USA along with UAB. The defending champs could easily make it back to the title game, especially with Harris and the experienced receivers and four offensive line starters returning. For a chance to triple up, UTSA is a very good bet.

UTSA ROADRUNNERS ODDS TO WIN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

+100000

The Roadrunners made it into The Associated Press' Top 25 rankings for the first time in school history last season, checking in as high as 15. Unfortunately the bowl result was the same as it ever was. The Roadrunners lost in the Frisco Bowl to San Diego State, and they're now 0-3 all-time in bowl history. They've never played a bowl game outside of the state of Texas and/or New Mexico. A national championship? You can forget it, just don't forget about The Alamo.
